The New GM hire can't come soon enough.
it might take a long time. Seems like the investigation of Olshey started when Obama was in the Senate

Perfect. Who cares about the score. Just keep losing. We need to rebuild. Go Timbers
DSJ even calling out the starters. Give me more of DSJ!
I agree. What he can do is nail a few butts to the bench. I would rather watch a motivated scrub then...whatever the hell RoCo has become!
I’m talking only about effort, competitiveness, body language, etc. The stuff that is 100% controllable
I totally agree. These guys are showing very little buy in right now and because of the distorted reality that Olshey and Stotts have been selling them for so long they think they're legit. So sitting one of the starters like RoCo might be a bad idea. Sitting RoCo and CJ which is what would be done in an amateur setting would be disastrous. The team would see it as Chauncey asserting dominance and humiliating guys... he'd lose the team completely.I think that is a great in theory, but it could also cause a total fracture. Tough position for a 1st year head coach with 1 year of assistant coaching experience.
It’s also tough to tight rope trade values. If you sit RoCo/CJ/Nurk, you are essentially tanking their trade values.I think that is a great in theory, but it could also cause a total fracture. Tough position for a 1st year head coach with 1 year of assistant coaching experience.
You can say the same if you continue playing them...It’s also tough to tight rope trade values. If you sit RoCo/CJ/Nurk, you are essentially tanking their trade values.
Yeah whatever is going on with RoCo, his lack of effort is unacceptable but what is and has been going on with Nurk is more dangerous because Nurk teases you with a good effort every now and then but then fucks you over with shitty effort the rest of the time. At least we know what to expect out of RoCo right now... on offense he'll make the right pass and make an efficient number of open threes and on defense he will let the opponents do what they want. He's no longer the disruptor and energy guy he was and I think that's all mental. While Nurk has always been a headcase. We got outrebounded by 16 and Dennis Smith had 4 defensive rebounds; Nurk and Roco together had 5.
Exactly, that’s why I said it’s tough to tight rope the situation. You can say the same if you continue playing them...
I think you're right. I think that there was a ride or die type of vibe with these guys before Dame woke up and realized he could only ride with them to one playoff series victory here and there but nothing meaningful. I'm sure he had a hard conversation with CJ. I'm also sure that the comments and change to the system have fucked with RoCo's mentality. Nurk's head has always been fucked.I’m wondering if the speculation over the summer about Dame’s future with the team affected the team chemistry. Dame essentially said this team as constructed was not good enough to win a title. I’m wondering if some guys took offense to that and said fuck it. This team has always had great chemistry but this season seems to be way off.
But a better record.Did they? They had the same shitty defense last year.
It’s a trip, I’ve always been a soccer fan. Played it as a kid and grew up, and going to Timbers games with my parents. I can totally understand why people don’t watch it though.I’m at amateur soccer games every Saturday and I say the same thing. I’m still supportive of a kid that plays any sport though. That’s all I did growing up was play sports

This roster is fucked from the stand point of how their skill sets are incongruent. This roster is fucked because it doesn't have enough size or athleticism. This roster is fucked in the head. Roster moves are the only legit answer, this organization has to make them and they should do it as soon as possible.
I don't think we make lottery with Simmons on our team.Plan C:
Sell off Dame, CJ, RoCo, Nurk for young assets and multiple 1s
Make the Lottery
Keep 28 year olds Norm and Nance as the new leaders of the younger team(I like their toughness and character)
Swing the Simmons deal (most likely a Dame package)
Start over with a lineup of…
Simons/Maxey
Norm
Little/Thybulle
Nance/GB3
Simmons
Add our 2 1s and at least 3 more 1s (over this and next season) for the guys traded.
Unpopular yes but resets the timeline, we have been the same exact team for the past 8 years and it isn’t good enough, Dame is 33 next season.
