For what we have paid and how high expectations were, this team is underperforming

We paid players for multiple seasons, not just one season. The value of a contract can't be assessed after only a few games. Some players are overpaid compared to their production now, but may be underpaid towards the end of the contract. I prefer to judge young players on their effort, and decision making, rather than their production. Expectations are on the one doing the expecting, not the expectee.

and lacks mental toughness and grit.

I think lack of "mental toughness and grit" is to be expected from the second youngest roster in the entire NBA.

But that's one of the good things about this forum. Sly and the other mods keep an open mind and moderate the forum with an even hand. Besides, there is an ignore function for a reason.

Here's the thing. Tunchi is definitely too negative and wants to be right. That's it. However he has made some good points in the past people ignored. Kingspeed however, has made absolutely no fucking sense in everything he has said. Too positive. I'm not even mad after tonight, I expect this. Blazer fans should be angry right now. This isn't the team that was last year. This is inexcusable. Tired of a couple people on this forum playing happy go lucky "don't worry everything will gen fine". Have the past two games told you ANYTHING? Or what about every other loss before that? It's a defensive problem. Completely. That shit doesn't just fix itself. We need a trade. A significant one maybe. Or make a small trade and ride this season out because it's looking like shit right now, work through the draft or something. The crabbe and turner contracts absolutely fucked us. Meyers is a terrible asset. Nobody wants these "assets", that's the issue with olshey and his "assets". They are untradeable. Nobody wants that shit

I know. It's ridiculous that they've allowed this dude to stay. His toxicity takes over and ruins game. He's made this forum worse off just by himself and by his constant bullshit. I used to enjoy game threads even in losses.

Our Losses recently pretty much come down to 1 quarter every game we just fucken BLOW. We do great and generally outscore the other team the other 3 quarters but taht one quarter we just dig ourselves a deep hole.

Mental lapses. You can see the intensity level dip and we are clearly not mentally engaged. Lots of silly, unforced turnovers, players driving into the teeth of the defense with no real idea where they're going with the ball while their teammates stand and watch with their hands at their sides, and passing up open shots because they're scared. Then our defense is just a lot of standing around and reacting to getting beat, instead of locking in and playing with awareness and anticipation. This can be fixed if the players want to bad enough.

Youth shouldn't be an excuse at this point. It's an experienced roster. The team went to the second round of the playoffs last year. It pushed the Warriors in most of that series.
