Our defensive team has been in for a minute or two...Crabbe, Leonard, Lillard, Harkless. We lose.

See you next game! Same channel, same thing!

Another meltdown, another inept quarter, another 6 minutes stretch of absolute dreck.......wait, it's still early, right?

Leonard is down to 37.2% shooting (bear in mind that he's fucking 7'1) and yet he is still got 22 minutes tonight on the basis of his "stretch five shooting". Vonleh gave them a nice burst of energy and got rewarded with 7 minutes.

Leonard's ineptitude is past the point of being funny to me. I can't even bring myself to laugh at his hair anymore. Just tears of agony.

i was going to chip in with some statistical points to really highlight how shit he is this year, but during my investigation it just got beyond annoying and i couldnt bring myself to continue with the spiral into the lands of broken monitors.

needless to say, i think at this point all that needs to be said, is that his performance speaks for itself & and nobody short of KingSpeed himself wouldn't notice how unbelievably trash and pointless his chosen development path is to this team.

stretch shooting? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck outta here with that whoever is still hanging onto that.... you cool with paying 40M+ to watch this guy in his 5th pro year basically all-inning on a skill set he doesn't even have.

ok i need to stop, the monitor is looking worried.

the sonics thing really was the poo icing on a shit cake, wasn't it?

Anyone got audio of that? How the fuck does he make that mistake? Did he ever make that mistake on the national level? Our team doesn't even have any green on it!

Wish I would of recorded it, don't know where his damn head was at but he definitely said sonics and it was weird. It would be one thing if they were still in the league but they aren't. It's the Thunder. That's what makes it weird. Unless the terrible play of us just sent him back to his years calling the sonics, who knows

The thing that bothers me is that this near exact same team showed what they were capable of last season. Is it an unreasonable expectation to have the team continue with the same momentum from last season's success? Not saying we should be better because we made it to the second round, but because of how well we played after last December.
I share your frustrations. In my opinion, I don't think that it's unreasonable to hope that the players continue their momentum/success/improvement from last season; along the same trajectory (because that is exactly my position as well), but given we're the second youngest team in the NBA, I do think it's unreasonable to expect the aforementioned. I believe this, because I don't expect consistency from young players. I follow many sports, and one of the things they all have in common (without fail) is inconsistency by young players.

we're the second youngest team in the NBA

Why do we have such an inexperienced team? It's because Olshey invented the rule that he will take only players of Lillard's age. Something about aging along with Lillard. (If I know anything, it's that you don't plan 5-10 years ahead. You build a roster for one year.)

Pritchard had the same delusion of grandeur. Homers felt so proud to earn the title of Youngest Team in the League, but I said, why self-handicap?

Conventional wisdom has always been that you mix ages on a team. You want experienced players to impart wisdom to young players. You want mid-age players at their peaks. You want them all, not a one-dimensional team all at the same stage of experience.

Also, conventional wisdom has always been that you don't depend on outside shooting. Red Auerbach used to say that he loved to play such teams. He would just stay even until they ran out of bullets, then swoop in for the kill. Muhammed Ali called it "Rope a Dope" against the hard-hitting George Foreman, who had never had to fight beyond 2-3 rounds till he fought Ali. The flashy team/boxer had no endurance.

In my game play-by-play, I kept saying that it's the players' fault, not management's. I hope readers were smart enough to see the obvious sarcasm against posters saying that. The players are playing as hard as they can. When most teams meet us, they must increase their normal energy level to match us. I usually listen to the other teams' broadcasters, and they are excited by the pace.

I agree with everything you said. Meyers is just awful and why he is playing is beyond me, I can't fathom why he we signed either. I just worry that we won't be able to just give him away - probably will have to take back a bad contract.

-I loved how that dumbass Pacers commentator rambled about Leonard yet somehow summed him up pretty well:

*Leonard takes a 3 and misses*

"That's the guy you want to have the ball because he's not accustomed to having to make these shots, he can make them, but that's not what he's accustomed to do".

-Nate McMillan be like: "Really Paul? you replaced ME with this CLOWN?!

nate would be a decent coach with the current team. play defense and let lillard do everything on offense.

Haha

Told ya but I'll let others like Lowe and the Blazers trash play show ya

Can't wait for the draft and mini rebuild this team is broken as fuck

I hate non defensive teams

As Leonard takes a patented slow-windup long miss, the Pacer colorman says that that's which Blazers we need to shoot, guys who always miss when it's needed. Leonard's reputation has seeped around the league. He's untradeable. End of 3rd quarter, 2 up.

Good job getting it verbatim. I had strained to remember it as I typed it. The colorman (who was he?) seemed to know our roster well. Another time, he was naming our names with specific evaluations, and all I could remember as I summarized fast was:

Colorman notes that our bench are bad scorers, so Pacers should do well now. They take the lead.

Sometimes, you don't have to announce to people around you that you smell dog turd in the air.

Unless you're next to KingSpeed, definitely tell him, because he might mistake it for peanut butter.

...pretty sure you celebrated a bit too early on this one --> "Week 7 Results Won 6 - 5 vs RipCityDSCPL"

What? I check at about 12 midnight and it showed 6 for me and 5 for you. The 6 was by the blue jersey(that's me) and the 5 was next to your avatar. I won by getting the assists category from you last night.

*Scratches head confused and goes to look to see what's up*

What the hell? Last night it said I won the match and I won the assists category that gave me the 6-5 win. Why is it saying differently now?

...so Yahoo! does this really weird thing with basketball scoring and official stats where at some point leading up to midnight it doesn't have that days stats in there, then all of a sudden it will update with the total cumulative stats. It's terribly delayed and can be very frustrating. Ask @KingSpeed about it :biglaugh:

That's total bunk Yahoo does that. Last week was the worst sports week, Blazers lose and Cowboys lose.
