If losing tonight is the only way to force this management into immediate change we should all be rooting for a loss... or else this team will keep winning just enough so fans will go through the agony of another season of false hope and lies by management... please just lose and fire Stotts at a minimum so we can see some real change... it would be nice to see something different for the remaining 50 or so games

I will never root for the Blazers to lose

Well then you can’t think big picture... sometime you have to take a step back to take 2 steps forward... we need an extreme loss to put pressure on Neil or above Neil to make change... unless you are happy watching this treadmill team for 2 more years

You know i can actually understand your feeling on this. But i just don't see any changes happening this year. Just not gonna happen until ownership gets dealt with. So i'm gonna root for the Blazers to win and hope they can make some real improvements to they way they are playing right now. This team is playing very very poorly and i know they can get things going in a better direction.

Chris, I HATE losing, but I kind of have to agree with Gronk on this. The only way we're going to get change is if we keep losing. For better or worse.

Vulcan CEO Chris McGowan is the one who would fire both Olshey and Stotts.

McGowan is not the Vulcan CEO. Bill Hilf is and has been for the past two years. Jody Allen is the former CEO of Vulcan, Inc, and is currently the executor and trustee of Paul Allen's estate, pursuant to Paul's instructions.

Chris McGowan is President of Vulcan Arts and Entertainment, just one branch of Vulcan, Inc. Jody Allen, Bill Hilf and Bert Kolde all out rank him. He may be the one that technically fires Stotts and Olshey, but it won't be his decision.

Bill isn't exactly on the cutting edge of being "in touch" with the Blazers. His twitter feed:

Great....so we have a President who's not even in ranking position, a GM who knows he's on the hot seat if he draws attention to himself, one ranking Trustee who literally doesn't give a shit about sports, and one CEO and a Vice Chairman who are out of touch with the Blazers.

Swell. Just awesome.

Sounds like pink slips are coming soon

I get what you both are saying, and I don't disagree. I am just saying I won't root for the Blazers to lose.

I too won't root for them to lose.....but, I'm also not going to be upset about it.

Kind of like a perverse limbo of sorts, I guess.

McGowan is ceo of Vulcan sports and entertainment, pretty sure it’d be his call.

Whose call was it when Pritchard and Cho were fired? It was Paul's. He fired Pritchard and he fired Cho. Jody Allen is the one responsible for carrying out Paul's instructions. If a decision is to be made, she will likely turn to Paul's old buddy Bert Kolde for advice. Bert is the Senior Director for Vulcan Inc. and is, and has been, the Vice Chairman of the Portland Trail Blazers since 1988 - the year Paul bought the team. He outranks Chris McGowan and has been with the team much longer.

No way in hell does McGowan have the autonomous authority to fire Neil and Terry. He may be the one that formally hands them their walking papers, but the decision will be made higher up. He may recommend one, or both be fired, but it won't be his call.

It’s not that serious.

I will never root for this team to loose but I know realistic this group has gone as far the train will take them.

Suns are starting three rookies come on Terry start Trent or Simons ya ding dong
I agree but he needs a win too badly. He will go all in and they will blow these guys out to make themselves feel better.

If PHO is starting Mikal Bridges at the 2, we need some size in our starting backcourt. Which, in theory means Stauskas over Curry, but Terry doesn't like to fuck with the rest of the rotation when a player is out. So, I vote for a surprise start from Gary Trent Jr. He's the 3rd stringer that matches up best against Bridges. Start him, even it it's only a Vonleh start, and keep the second unit in tact (why, I'm not sure, but that's the way Terry likes to do things).

My father in law just flew in from Minnesota today. Guess who was sitting in the plane next to him to watch his son play? Gary Trent SR. My money is Gary found out he's starting and SR flew out to see his son start his first game in the NBA.
