Who's the best overall defender on this year's Blazers squad?

Dame has about the broadest shoulders in Blazer history. He has basically carried the Blazers to 7 straight playoffs, and will do so again this year. Tonight was one of his best games, and he's had dozens

also tonight:

RoCo and Jones combined for 25 points on 14 shots; 15 rebounds; 4 assists; 4 steals; & 6 blocks while playing some really good defense. Dame won the Oscar, but those tow shared best supporting actor honors

if he stays healthy, Zion is going to be a monster. I do wonder if he can stay healthy is he's really 284 pounds like they said
says something when dame ran over to DJ and Roco right after the buzzer sounded to give em both daps and a hug

i quit listening ten minutes in after zach responded to his dame snub incredulously. he has it in for Dame for some reason-- been giving him shit since his rookie year when he was harping about how low his ceiling is.
Even ignoring all the Luka crap, I just don't understand why the MVP love for Dame is not on the same level as it is for Steph. From the entire league.

Not to discredit what Steph is doing, because he's been amazing, but how is the love for Dame not at least on that level? Their stats, both raw and advanced are all similar, Dame is actually better in most advanced metrics. Their supporting cast is about the same, especially without CJ/Nurk for the last 10+ games. The Blazers have a much better record and Dame has been just killer in the clutch.

i'm telling you. it's because dame doesn't shimmy and dance after every made shot. national media eats that crap up.

After the Nuggets series two years ago, Dame went over to Mo and Aminu and told them both "I love you", for all the stuff they do that go unnoticed on the stat sheets.

DJJ/RoCo had a rough start of the year, but they're starting to show why they're a better version of the Mo/Aminu frontcourt.

18 times in the history of the NBA, a player has score 40 points and had 15 assists.

Blazers have 2 of those....Clyde the Glide and Dame Dolla.

Of course and as much as I enjoyed watching Clyde, Dame is the more loyal player.

This is the 3rd best record (under Stotts) after 28 games for the Blazers.

22-6, 23-5 and 18-10.

The first two teams didn't lose their 10th game until game 40 and 41.

we're gonna get the news about all star starters tomorrow. Dame will not be there.

fucking criminal

A total travesty. But I guess it's more fuel for Dame's fire. He might go apocalyptic on the league in the next 2 weeks.

What a fucking fun stretch of basketball this team is playing.

Best passing and defensive game from Dame this year pretty easily. The end of game shit is just too routine for him right now. Silly stuff we are seeing.

Roco and DJ are really hitting their defensive stride, Roco hitting shots again. Derrick is starting to find his spots in the offense and Terry is helping him out by using him more as a roll man plus sprinkling in some actions to get him on the move to the rim. Guys are missing him a lot on these plays right now, but excited to see what these look like when Nurk's back in the lineup.

Ant and Gary playing with the most confidence and poise that we've seen in their young careers.

Kanter improving defensively throughout the year is a nice thing to see as well.

I know I'm missing some stuff but overall, just so much fun to watch the joy, belief and determination that this group is playing with right now.

It's stupid. I've listened to a lot of national media stuff and even the guys that are usually pretty unbiased just gloss over what Dame's doing.

They exalt Steph every chance that they get but not Dame. It's preposterous!

john hollinger, that fucking moron, had dame outside the top 10 in MVP rankings yesterday. said rudy gobert was above him. and that steph and luka played better defense and meant more to their teams, and that our record is over inflated.

no wonder he got fired from his NBA gig
Never go full idiot. Well that guy did.

Ro-Co Jones, was a friend of mine,...
(it's an old song "Cisco Kid", but they remind me of the song.)

Mike Wilbon and John Hollinger don’t think he’s a legit MVP candidate.
