Uh oh... really bad news: We lost the all-important assist battle 27-15.

Nevermind, I'm no longer happy with this win!

We would have won by 26 if we had tied the assist game. I’m depressed.

it's just funny they sold out all game to guard dame with two guys, then let him go one on one in the final possession.
Michael Holton said several times on the radio he'd never seen a team double team Kanter in the post like they did tonight....they doubled him a lot...didn't want second chance pts from us ..it's good Enes is a solid free throw shooter and again..avoided fouling out of the game.

Hell of a finish by Dame saving the Blazers on both sides of the floor. Though Covington tried to pass it away.

forgettable game by Dame for the first 43 minutes, although the Warriors basically doubling him all night was part of that

but remember those stats showing Dame is the most clutch player in the league?

the last 5 minutes:

4:44 Damian Lillard makes two point shot 96 - 95
3:40 Robert Covington makes 26-foot three point jumper (Damian Lillard assists) 101 - 98
3:16 Damian Lillard defensive rebound 101 - 98
2:50 Damian Lillard defensive rebound 101 - 98
2:06 Damian Lillard makes 25-foot three pointer 103 - 103
51.5 Damian Lillard makes free throw 1 of 2 106 - 104
51.5 Damian Lillard makes free throw 2 of 2 106 - 105
26.0 Damian Lillard defensive rebound 106 - 105
14.0 Damian Lillard makes 29-foot step back jumpshot 106 - 108
4.1 Draymond Green offensive charge 106 - 108
4.1 Draymond Green turnover 106 - 108

So Kerr doubling Dame the whole game then left him one on one on an island with 13secs left. Dame Over lol
looking thru the last play, think curry is to blame here.

he just stands there at the foul line without guarding anyone. not taking a timeout was the right decision to get em unprepared

it's been a long time since I've been on a basketball court. I use to be a pretty good shooter. But even on my best day, I would have had a better chance of throwing my back out attempting that shot, than sinking a step-back 30 footer. Do you guys realize how difficult that is?

so terry finally realized he could throw hard doubles and traps and curry at halftime.

and whaddya know. it worked. ugh, this guy is clueless

I'm not defending Stotts, but is it possible he wanted to save the doubling of Steph for the end of the game as a surprise tactic?

Like how Brandon Roy used to notice some offensive exploits he could take advantage of during the game, but declines to use it until he needed it for crunch time?

Not saying guarding Curry with single coverage is a winning strategy, but who can really say? On the other hand, maybe doubling him earlier would've had the Blazers up 10 in the 4th, so perhaps Stotts did make a strategic mistake. Who knows?

All I know is I love the result tonight!

Called it, not losing if Melo scores 18 and Dame will hit the last shot

I’ll give you that fam. But give me that I’m 6 for my last 6 calling games AND I did say in the game thread this is one of this games who ever scores last wins!

come on man, this is terry stotts we're talking about. the guy who let curry get whatever he wants his whole career against portland. this wasn't some elaborate strategy.

Good observation. It's the opposite of what Stotts did to Curry, not doubling Steph until late in the 4th. Quite ironic.

Kerr became Stotts, and Stotts became Kerr.

It's just crazy and I know everyone's been saying it but Dame was having probably his worst night of the season, then he just wins it for us. Wouldn't have been possible without what Melo was doing on offense and what Gary and RoCo were doing on both ends but in the end it was Dame. I think he'll eventually go down as the clutchest player in NBA history.
