We won this game at the FT line - plane and simple. The Warriors were sending 2 at Dame all night and he made the right passes or drive and caught them cheating or scrambling causing a foul. Everyone did their job at the line (ROLO’s 2 misses at the end made it interesting though). Good teams find ways to win ugly games - the coaching staff deserves some credit here along with our All-NBA Lillard. Also we don’t win this game without Melo and the bench.

Not unless he wins a couple of rings at least.
I only think he needs to win one but it's kind of bullshit because he's way more clutch than Horry or even Chauncey because he is his team's offense and then he manages to take these other teams out all of the time. They spend the whole game trying to take him out, tonight it worked, usually it doesn't work so well and then Dame just snatches up teams' souls. Not to bring it in here but Dame's excellence deserves a system and players that make teams pay for blitzing him and he needs defenders to cover for his biggest weakness.

Well said, this is also huge because we gutted out an ugly one against a team that is playing above .500 ball and we don't have too many of those wins. So it really gives us something to build on, especially if we can close this first half out against the Kings.

Great point. The Blazers need to finish strong against Sac. It’s all wasted if we hang an L at home before the break... I have faith in this team!

Anyone feeling deja vu on that game-saving defensive play by Lillard?

Those plays are like......

Same score and everything. My mind is blown.

Hall of Fame Melo really stepped up! It's hard to complain about Carmelo in this one.

How many minimum contract guys have we had that have helped win us more game than him? Not counting in-season waiver pickups.

I do not love Melo's game, he's cost us a handful of times, but he's came up large a lot too.

Postgame Notes – March 3, 2021
Portland 108, Golden State 106
Game No. 34, Home Game No. 16

TEAM
• The Trail Blazers recorded their 10th home win of the season, improving to 10-6 at Moda Center. Portland (10-8 away) is one of six NBA teams that has won at least 10 games both at home and on the road.
• Portland shot 22-of-26 (84.6%) from the free-throw line, while Golden State was 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the stripe. The Trail Blazers improved to 9-2 in games with 20 or more made free-throws.
• Portland was 14-of-49 (28.6%) from deep, while Golden State was 15-of-42 (35.7%) from 3-PT range. The Trail Blazers extended their stretch of consecutive games with 10-plus three-pointers made to 47, the fourth-longest streak in NBA history (the 2019-20 Raptors are in third at 48 straight games).
• The Trail Blazers recorded 10 turnovers to the Warriors 11, and both teams scored nine fast break points on the night.

PLAYER
• Damian Lillard led Portland with 22 points (6-17 FG, 3-10 3-PT, 7-8 FT), five rebounds, six assists and two steals in 36 minutes. Lillard scored 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter (3-5 FG, 2-4 3-PT, 2-2 FT).
• Carmelo Anthony added 22 points (8-13 FG, 2-6 3-PT, 4-5 FT), two rebounds and four assists. It was Anthony’s 10th game with 20+ points this season, and the second time he has recorded four or more assists.
• Robert Covington had 15 points (5-12 FG, 3-9 3-PT, 2-4 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, two steals and three blocks. Covington has scored a total of 36 points over his last two outings, his best two-game stretch as a Trail Blazer.
• Enes Kanter recorded 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field (3-3 FT), 14 rebounds and one block. It was his 19th double-double of the season, and fifth in his last six games.
• Gary Trent Jr. had 15 points (6-16 FG, 1-8 3-PT, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal in a game-high 40 minutes. He extended his career-best streak of scoring in double-figures to 15 games.

• Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 35 points (13-28 FG, 5-14 3-PT, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. It was Curry’s 11th game with at least 35 points this season, putting him in a five-way tie for the most in the NBA.
• Draymond Green recorded five points (2-5 FG, 1-1 3-PT), nine rebounds, 12 assists and three steals in 36 minutes. It was his 12th game with double-digit assists this season.

In a loss, HOF coach, Mr Steve Kerr is asking for more guys to step up and make plays/shots.

This guy has his head up his ass, as Stotts says, accountability is overrated, the guys just need to watch some tape and play a little harder.

The not so funny thing is that Kerr is a players coach, he's just not against saying when his players need to step up. There is a tone of assertive leadership that Kerr takes that is just different than Stotts's style. I do realize that Stotts could be a tyrant in the locker room but that's just not what I'm getting from what he says and the players say.

I took a shot of whisky each time our backup point guard passed the ball... Needless to say I won't have a hangover tomorrow.
I don't know, Rodney passed the ball quite a few times tonight.

I've got no issue with Kerr, I'm just having fun (as you know).

Never understood the value in critizing your players to the media.

Since Kerr has kicked Terry’s ass multiple times, I would love to pick up Kerr.

Since the Warriors have had 4 all-stars in their prime (two MVPs) and a finals MVP on one roster, I would like to pick up Bob Myers.

If Kerr couldn't kick ass with that, he should be embarrassed. He hasn't done much of anything with only 1-2 all-stars.
