I’m about done with Lafreniere. If we can get a first round pick and an NHL ready center prospect that has decent upside. I think I make that deal at this point.

Miller is injured week to week, upper body. The rest were sick, I guess the flu is running through the team, it's why Panarin missed the Blues game.

That's good stuff. As if Drury would ever have the ability, creativity, or foresight to trade Lafreniere (or Zibanejad or Fox for that matter). Best we can hope for is MAYBE he trades Panarin, but I'm not 100% sold Drury can pull that off.

This is what happens when you don’t rebuild. Also, this is what happens when your number one and number two picks turn out to be complete busts.

He reminds me of Kovalev. Unfortunately, Messier and Lemieux aren’t around to get him to play.

Agreed. What year you get the # 1 and # 2 picks matter. In some years you'll get Crosby or McDavid or MacKinnon or OV or Malkin or Matthews. In other years you'll get Hischier or Lafreniere or Kakko or Patrick.

It's unfortunate for the Rangers the two years they moved up they got players that were not studs and not C's. I am not going to beat up the Rangers management for taking Lafreniere and Kakko though, as every team/GM would have taken them first and second in their draft years. Typical Rangers luck both have failed to live up to the potential thus far.

I'm not giving up on Lafreniere yet, he has shown flashes, I would only trade him for a good solid return. What concerns me though is he doesn't seem to be a hard worker, I haven't seen his skating improve greatly, I haven't seen his work ethic improve greatly, and if anything, his game has gotten worse from 2 or 3 years ago. He seems to be a kid that needs a kick in the butt to play hard and really work to be great. The Kovalev comparison seems fair.

I think a really good player may be in there, but how do you get it out and get him to want it, not sure that is doable. If you don't want to put in the work and don't have the drive to be great, at some point that is who you are.
