I read someone say a reason not to shit can Stotts was that "name a team that went on to win the title when they fired a coach mid-season".

The best response is "the team isn't winning the title this year anyways. Might as well fix it now"

I wasn't defending this, I was posting a tweet that was critical of Stotts/Portland's defense. I can't do anything right!

See Torey...you should be celebrating losing games...that's what gets a coach fired...you're wasting your emotions...what you want to happen will probably happen quicker if you lose more games...winning is not going to get the coach fired....

We know the Pelicans can score, though, and we know our defense isn't good. But the Pels don't play any defense, and yet we've turned the ball over 8 times and can't make the open shots we have.

We already had the obligatory once-per-game RoCo WTH pass when he's throwing an outlet to Kanter at halfcourt. Then DJJ has a brain freeze and misses Dame in the backcourt after a good defensive play -- that turns into a 3 for NO.

But the play that really stood out to me was the time the Pelicans had a miscommunication and had 3 defenders on the pick-and-roll 27 feet from the basket and the best shot we could get with a 3-on-2 was Covington pulling up for a 3 high on the wing where it can be rushed because the out-of-position defenders didn't have far to recover. Of course, he bricked it.

Not the kind of adjustments I mean, and we go to that pretty much every game. I guess that would fall under minimal adjustments because it's almost as choreographed as Stotts' substitution pattern.

Well there is player movement, most of it is useless. There's very little ball movement though. A lot of it ends up with guys trying to spot up for 3. That's not Jones's strength.

I searched this forum for "well coached team". Didn't find anyone in 8 years claiming it was. The query does come up with multiple posts of you claiming people are saying it though.
