Game 4..what ya waiting for

Saw this period coming from a mile away after the terrible first by the Rangers. And Igor hasn't made a big save in Pitt. It's a shame it ends this way. Hard to say how much you learn after this pile. But the Pens experience helped for sure, but being real tonight is an embarrassment. To play like this with the season on the line is a joke.

If they don't improve the 3rd line D (maybe kids can handle that internally - we'll see) and FINALLY add a player who can win a FO they should fire Drury.

Also Chytil needs to be ready for the # 2 C role or he needs to be traded. He is not a 3rd line C. You need more grit as 3rd line C. Copp can be 3rd line C, Chytil totally messes up the line flow as the 3rd line C. I love Lafreniere/Copp/Goodrow as the 3rd line. That would be awesome.

This is for another day, but let's remember such a young team, and ahead of the timeline this year. Let's remember that as we talk it through the next few days/weeks.

Igor is an excellent goalie but still has a lot to learn and has maturing to do. People anointed him the next Lundqvist too soon.

In a way that Fox goal angers me more. What a shocker you shoot the puck and good things can happen. We will NEVER learn that. Until we do, and add a guy who can win a FO, not sure we'll ever truly be a playoff ready team.
Except it wasn't a shot..he was trying to find kreider for the slam dunk

They should package Chytil with Georgiev and a pick/prospect for the best 3C they can.

If we can get the third before the end of this period...I like our chances

Committing to Zibanejad long-term was not a good idea by the way he has performed historically in the playoffs. He will get his points in the regular season and then does not show up in the playoffs as usual.

Agreed with first part for sure. He does need to mature. And to this point we still do not know if he can be the guy in big spots. Hank was such a competitor and monster in big spots, let's not pretend we know Igor can handle that yet. We don't know - and after these two games it is very much an open question.

All alone in front. And not saying that was his fault, but jesus has Igor made any big saves in Pitt. I mean my lord he has been at best average.

This is absolutely embarrassing for Igor. The guy cannot make even one somewhat difficult save. Yes tipped, but come on man the puck went right through him. What a joke. He cannot handle this, that is clear. Not that it matters, but do you even start Igor in game 5...

He is just not ready for this, and that is scary for the future. He needs to be that guy. Still can be of course, but now he'll have this in his head. Not sure if mentally he can overcome it.

We should all boycott the Rangers next season if they don't improve the 3rd pair D and add someone who can win a FO. I would also add if they re-sign Strome. He 100000000% needs to be gone. I rather have Copp by a mile.

And Z, Kreider, Panarin (who also concerns me) didn't even show up tonight. This was by miles their worst performance of the series.

Go back to the cheap shot by Carter on Igor and no one beat the shit out of him

Look at the 1st period in game 1. Came out on fire hitting like crazy. Since then nada. Maybe losing that first game crushed them mentally.

Maybe they can somehow get it together and get it to a game 6 with their backs against it.

Great season but it's looking obvious they weren't ready for the playoffs just yet.

Here is what I want:

Kreider/Z/Vatrano
Panarin/add a # 2 who can win a FO/Kakko
Lafreniere/Copp/Goodrow
Kid/Kid/Reaves/Motte/Kid

Lindgren/Fox
Miller/Trouba
Kid/Schneider

And BTW - Pen interview after period 1, Pen interview after period 2. ESPN is a joke.

Agreed - better for another day, but cannot lose sight of this. Joke performance here, but team is ahead of schedule with a lot of kids. We have to keep perspective.

What scares me though is Igor mentally capable in big spots? Panarin and Z playoff players? Those things concern me moving forward.

For my money they should see what panerin brings back. Saves a ton on salary and don’t think he’s the clutch playoff guy we need. Lindgren needs to go also. They need a competent young d like Chychrun or someone of that caliber. Time to start moving some of the farm that’s never playing here starting with lundqvist for some proven players

Usually they play better on the road in the playoffs.
