Nice solid Blazer win over a team they were expected to beat. I was most impressed with Zach Collins. Of course those stats look nice, but he really did some great defense that didn't show up in the stat lines. He was hustling on every play.

Here's where the Blazers are at compared to last year, and also 2014-15:

I'm looking forward to the second half of this season. CJ looks like he is climbing out of his slump. Nurk will continue to Beast. And Zach will continue to develop. I think this team can put together a pretty good run, and hopefully continue strong into the playoffs!

From Bing:
"A pair of consecutive 3-pointers from McCollum and Seth Curry put the Blazers up 112-96 and Portland went on to lead by as many as 19 points down the remaining stretch."
>That's the way to finish a game against an unfortunate.

Always nice to watch a Blazer win. This was a game at home they needed to win. Time to take care of some of the bumps and bruises. About now the schedule takes it's toll on the body. 15 games away from the All Star break and this team is looking like they are worn out. of the 15 games 7 are on the road. on three separate road trips.
This team has been lucky to this point on the injury front for the most part. But i would like to see some rotational rest for the weary. This is the stretch of games to do just that.

Team culture matters whether folks think so or not...Rolo has gotten worse away from Portland ..so has Crabbe...Plumlee had his best year here...Ed Davis numbers were better here...it's a theme.
agree! wonder if Neil & Stotts have anything to do with it?

Like many young players who struggle coming into the league, it comes down to the jump shot. I have no doubt at some point Zach will improved his 3'- 20' jumper. It has been brutal this year. I doubt it will be very consistent until at least next season. But we got a glimpse of what he can do last night.

I wonder how long it will take Simons to become a part time starter. My guess is year 3.

The worst part about the calls on Zach was that Scott Foster and his merry band of idiots weren't calling much of anything all night, yet somehow Zach managed to get six against him.

He's going to be a hand full in two years as he fills out more. He a tough kid and shows no fear, and he has a heart and passion for the game.
Great pick by Neil!

Zach really good stat line last night from scoring and he rebound real well last night. He just miss the double double by one rebound. Zach gets a lot foul on him for trying to cover up for his team mates. 90 percent time if in the area of any shooter he try to contest the shot that lead to into fouls. But more experience he will learn when to contest shots. Thing about the refs if they at bad angle and if they think you foul them they will call it even you didn't touch them.

So the Blazers last night with a 2 on 1 fast break, did Aminu really think it was a good idea to keep the ball instead of passing to his all NBA PG teammate? Honestly how many of you thought he would make the lay up? Do they ever practice the fast break?

Team culture most definitely matters...

However, your use of Davis, Plumlee, & even Crabbe is a bit of a stretch. If you looked at their Per 100 Possession stats (to equalize for playing time/opportunity), they are all fairly consistent.

Even Lopez' best year was with the Knicks.
