I don't agree with the nothing of value outside of Panarin comment. Trocheck would definitely have value to a contender. He's signed to a very good contract for a few more years, wins FO's, is gritty, can kill penalties, and scores 20 + goals. I also think Zibanejad could have value to a contender, if Drury can get him to waive his NMC (which I highly doubt Drury has the ability or skillset to do). I think the same goes for Fox, who absolutely would have value.
Also, what is value? Does that mean 1st round picks, top prospects, decent prospects? If value means decent prospects/picks I think they can get some value. To me, just getting out from under Zibanejad's $8.5M is value in itself. I would trade him for mid round picks and prospects if I could clear his cap hit or maybe take back lesser cap hit for fewer years.
I do think trades can be made, I do not think Drury can make them though or get guys to waive their NTC/NMC. Those conversations take the right approach and words, and I do not believe Drury has it in him to handle it correctly. I'm not even fully confident Drury has raised the white flag on this pile of trash season. It's why they don't bring up Garand and instead make 40-year-old Quick the # 1. We're still in this thing is what Drury thinks...sad and pathetic.
