• Friday marks the second and final regular season matchup between the Trail Blazers and Hornets in 2015-16.

• Charlotte defeated Portland, 106-94, earlier this season at home on Nov. 15.

• In that Nov. 15 game, former Trail Blazer Nicolas Batum scored 33 points on 11-of-19 shooting (5-10 3-PT).

• Despite the loss in Charlotte earlier this season, Portland is 10-3 over its past 13 games against the Hornets.

• The Trail Blazers have won seven consecutive home games against the Hornets (2008-09 to 2014-15).

• A win for Charlotte would mark its first season sweep over Portland since 2007-08.

• Damian Lillard scored 23 points against Charlotte on Nov. 15, and has now scored at least 20 points in each of his seven career games against the Hornets.

• Damian Lillard led Portland with 25.5 points on 20-of-38 shooting (9-16 3-PT) in two games against the Hornets last season.

• The Trail Blazers are fifth in the NBA with 45.9 rebounds per game, while the Hornets are tied for 12th with 43.6 boards per contest.

• Trail Blazers forward Noah Vonleh (2014) and guard Gerald Henderson (2009-15) both played for Charlotte last season.

• Hornets forward Nicolas Batum spent his first seven NBA seasons with Portland, averaging 11.2 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Batum ranks third in Trail Blazers franchise history with 751 three-point fi eld goals.

HEAD-TO-HEAD HISTORY:
ALL TIME: Trail Blazers lead, 36-15
IN PORTLAND: Trail Blazers lead, 19-6
AT THE HORNETS: Trail Blazers lead, 17-9

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist missed 30 games last season, incuding the last 11. This season, he has missed all 46 games. So he's been out for 57 straight games. Tonight he returns! Exciting for Charlotte fans.

2012 draft: 1 Anthony Davis, 2 Kidd-Gilchrist, 5 Thomas Robinson, 6 Damion Lillard, 9 Andre Drummond, 11 Meyers Leonard, 15 Maurice Harkless...16 Royce White...

Damian's name is misspelled in your post. I can only assume that this is a copy-and-paste from an outside source as you would never make such a heinous error. I've decided not to wear my Sylvester Jr. brown paper bag of shame.

Psst...I spelled it Lilard the first time, but caught it upon reinspection and corrected it. Both my fingers and my eyes aren't what they used to be, Hoover.

... 12 Jeremy Lamb, 34 Jae Crowder, 35, Draymond Green, 40 Will Barton ..... Certainly an interesting draft.

This new guy posting, Lemon Marangue, was he the stat master who talked up Jae Crowder before that draft? That's a real feather on his baseball cap. I think it was him, on this board, under a different name.

This is one of those games that we need to get if we're serious about the playoffs. At home, rested, against a mediocre eastern conference team that got blown out in Utah.

Although I had Jae Crowder a bit high at #2, I also had Draymond Green at #10. And I noted Lillard was my preferred pick for the Blazers at #6. I definitely missed on Andre Drummond. He really kicked it in after college.

Okay, I gotta start giving you credit more often. I noticed you back then, but it takes work to analyze posts like yours and Lemon Marangue's, so I feel the surge of superpower only about every week or two to go through your excellent material. I'll just quickly memorize your name right now. 42WTF wait, this is even harder to remember than jlprk.

42N8Bounce = "Fortunate Bounce". But you can call me 42WTF. I've been called worse. :)

His name isn't Lemon Marangue. It's Don Mahjong. The least you could do for a new poster is learn his name properly.

Despite "got" being a verb, that sentence lacks a predicate.
Eight years of college, and I still don't know what this means.

Next up: Dangling participles. Do they, or don't they?

Hey mods, pass this along to Denny: Either give 42 his own section like Marang, or combine them into an analytical section. They could even compete.

The contra argument against this: Segregating sections decreases their readership, instead of increasing. I have yet to get the energy to open Dan Marang's special section for the first time. Just like creating a special section for selling things just because MGB kept offering his tickets...he died shortly thereafter...did Denny kill MGB?...I've looked at Denny's Place only a couple of times, ever.

So putting 42's stuff in with Lemon's stuff, where no one ever looks, might be the kiss of death. Anyway, it's an idea. I always have good ideas for Denny.

Hey, kids are reading this board BBert! Let's leave the x-rated stuff to the OT section, mmmmm-kay.

Too late. I already dropped an F-bomb today in the Moda thread. That was my quota for the year.

I've met Spud. I can vouch for the fact that SHE is most definitely NOT a eunuch. :)

You actually checked whether there was a dangling participle? Check again. I doubt you will find one.

For me, Winston Churchill said it best - "A dangling participle is something "up with which I will not put" "

Eight years of college, and I still don't know what this means.

You know how teachers are too lazy nowadays to teach kids how to handwrite? What do they call it, cursive. Also, in high school geometry, teachers don't teach rigorous proofs. Man, other than proofs, geometry was a lark. Proofs separated the men from the boys.

Well, the same phenomenon existed many decades ago, when lazy teachers stopped teaching 6th-graders how to diagram sentences. That's why despite 8 years of writing college papers, they didn't teach you the difference between a verb and a predicate.

Bring back sentence diagramming!

It was easier when I realized it was fortunatebounce
