Who deserves the most blame for the loss against Denver?

Wiggins led his team in scoring, yet also had the worst +/- with -24
Towns had solid numbers, yet I thought he would be better by now, even if he did make the all star team.

Wiggins is one of the most overrated players in the league. He’s not Anthony Bennett or anything but he’s nowhere near as good as he was (is?) hyped up to be.

CJ is the 3rd highest paid SG and 19th highest paid player this season. I can name 29 players id rather have, every team has at least 1.

He is a very good offensive guard though.
And he is also a starter on a top ten defensive team.

There is no many SG better than C.J. I guess Harden, Klay, Butler, Beal, DeRozan. You could make argument for Booker. Harris from Denver and Avery Bradley are good, but not better than C.J.

CJ is the 6th best SG in the league. The first 5 you named and Booker will all get max contracts in their next deal. Avery Bradley and Gary Harris will get close.

Exactly. You need to either pay your top ten positional players at market value or sell the team because you are too cheap. I have zero regrets over CJ's contract, and I highly doubt Paul Allen or Olshey would disagree.

Beal's max kicked in a year sooner therefore its slightly lower. It's like acting as if there's no max contract...

BTW, I assume you mean "so many"... 5 out of 29 other starting SGs being better than C.J. isn't "so many"... It's actually only a few.

I'm pretty sure this guy meant "not many" rather than "so many" from the context.

It was @LayneStaley that was disparaging the CJ contract.

I think he may be the new mixum/tunchi/grandjury

Every team has a guard who is a good shooter. Few start guards who make as many errors as McCollum (because Stotts tells him to play faster than he can). Even if McCollum looks good in stats, we don't need those redundant stats at Lillard's position. We need them from a wing who defends, shoots, and dribbles. Olshey tried with Turner and needs to try again.

If these guys watched the games without homer shades on than maybe I am. Make no mistake I root for, and only for the blazers but I still remember the pain of that 4th quarter in 2000 and this team hasn’t sniffed a WCF since. I’m done getting excited over mediocrness, it’s time to balance out this roster, if that means CJ goes so be it.

I can completely understand this type of thought, and who wouldn't want a ball handling 3 and D wing? But to grow a team, you also need to add and retain as much talent as possible. We need a more talented wing, but not at the expense of the talent we already possess.

If McCollum made a third of what he makes, I'd agree with you. This team can't expand its talent beyond rookie contracts as long as we waste $26 million/year on McCollum.

I’m sure we can get a stud wing player in free agency with all our cap space and the fact that free agents flock to Portland...oh wait

Agree to disagree.

Don't act like you can put words in my mouth, or understand my thought process without asking me.

Ok....please tell me how we acquire a more talented wing without cap space or trading assets someone actually might want? Please don’t say the draft.
