Would you be okay with the team being renamed the Oregon Trail Blazers?

I really hope the Bucks game was the final 'wake up call' for the team (I seriously doubt it was). OKC is bad, but they're not "down by 50" bad (tho, the Warriors weren't "down by 50" bad either).

I wish this was the kind of confidence Simons and Little played with all year. More so Simons, as I think Little has a lot more confidence in his game than Simons does.

Glad they took care of business.
This is what happens when you start playing better teams. It's a weird tendency that isn't spoken about much. You play better when you play better competition.
The idea is after playing a good team yesterday they came into the gym at that level and obviously the Thunder were nowhere close to that.
The Blazers should benefit win or lose from playing better teams this next week. They need to play against the best to beat the best.

A lot of potential with some of the youngsters. Little comes off the injury list and looked strong. I really hope they find a way to keep Giles.
With that 3 point shot, he can develop into a rotation player at PF. He is a good passer as well.

Postgame Notes – April 3, 2021
Portland 133, Oklahoma City 85
Game No. 49, Home Game No. 25

TEAM
• The Trail Blazers forced 22 turnovers leading to 34 points off turnovers, both of which were season highs. The last time Portland forced an opponent into 22 or more turnovers was Dec. 20, 2017 at San Antonio (23).
• The Trail Blazers had eight players score in double-figures for the first time this season. The last time eight Trail Blazers scored 10+ points was Feb. 13, 2019 vs. Golden State.
• Portland’s 19-point halftime lead was tied for the third-largest of the season, and Portland improved to 10-0 when securing a double-digit halftime advantage.
• The Trail Blazers 48-point margin of victory was the largest of the season, and tied for the second-largest in franchise history (50, 11/21/82 vs. Cleveland). It was the Trail Blazers largest margin of victory in Moda Center history.
• Portland improved to 30-19 on the season, becoming the ninth team in the league (sixth in the West) to reach the 30-win mark.

PLAYER

• CJ McCollum led Portland with 20 points (8-14 FG, 4-8 3-PT), four rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block. It was his third consecutive game with at least three made threes.
• Damian Lillard added 16 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3-PT, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, six assists and three steals. Lillard recorded three steals in consecutive games for the first time this season.
• Norman Powell had 15 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3-PT, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, one assist and three steals. Powell has finished in double-figures in all five games with Portland.
• Enes Kanter recorded 12 points on 6-of-13 shooting, to go with 17 rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block. His 17 rebounds were tied for the most by an NBA player off the bench this season (W. Hernangomez, J. Hart).
• Anfernee Simons finished with 16 points (5-11 FG, 3-8 3-PT, 3-3 FT), one rebound and two assists.
• Nassir Little had 13 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3-PT, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes off the bench. It was his sixth game this season in double-figures, and his eight boards were a season-high.
• Harry Giles scored 12 points (4-5 FG, 3-3 3-PT, 1-2 FT) and had two rebounds and one assist. It was his first career game with multiple made threes.
• Kenrich Williams led Oklahoma City with 18 points (7-13 FG, 1-3 3-PT, 3-3 FT), five rebounds and two assists. It was his third-highest scoring game of the season.
• Tony Bradley added 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block. It was his 10th career game in double-figures.

I think I’ve pin-pointed the problem with our defense:

Enes: “We talk about it... we know we gotta keep them under 90... in a halftime....”

Norm: “I see from afar how they play...”. Was that before or after playing with them?

I think he's secretly taking a shot at Nick Nurse. Read into it very very deep and you can come up with some hidden message!

THAT is what you should do to a team so bereft of talent. This is more like what games against the Heat and Magic should have looked like. Glad to see them put their foot down. Now let's see if any of that translates to upper half Playoff teams.

Our last 6 games against those Playoff type of teams is a -85. Clippers/Jazz should give us more of an idea if we are progressing. Even if they lose those two tough games, if they are competitive battles where they just come up short, that would be an improvement.

You do know the the Magic just beat both the Pelicans and Clippers on the road. They also played the Lakers to a 3 point loss at Staples as well.
The Heat are currently riding a 4 game win streak. Knicks, Pacers, Warriors, and Cavs. Lesser teams yes but still a 4 game streak.

I agree with this statement however. They should start improving in all phases at this point.

Not with the roster they had when we played that night.

Orlando is playing well and they have not added much. They started the exact same players against the Clippers as they did against the Blazers.
I just looked. Would you like me to post it?
They did change to starting Randle against the Pels and didn't dress MCW

Did you watch that game? I live in SoCal so I watch a lot of Lakers and Clippers games. First, the Magic played Terrence Ross, Wendell Carter and Otto Porter Jr. These are 3 legit NBA level talent that did not play against Portland. Second, the Clippers did not play Paul George, Serge Ibaka, Marcus Morris, Patrick Beverly and Rajon Rondo. With pretty much their entire starting line-up out, the Clippers were still up by double-digits the majority of the game.
