And what's up with vonleh? What do you guys see in him? He plays ok defense I'll give him that but he's weak to me other than that. Randall is the same age as him and is muuuuch better.

Harkless and Aminu are night and day better than Batum..
Vonleh will be good don't worry about that (it will take time, no surprise, @ least to some of us; by the end of this season, he'll start to look more like summer league Vonleh but he'll steadily improve/make nice strides over the next 3 years; I say @ the beginning of year 3 from now, he will have arrived!) :wink: Right now though, stats don't have him looking all that great & on the court I'll bet u anything they've purposely told him not to try to do too much; this is standard around the league for what teams ask of their young guys that aren't expected to carry the franchise (once they've proven proficiency w/ the things they do well/what's expected of them, THEN they're allowed to branch out a bit & allowed to do little bits more; also, this's only logical:-)).

It's not "totalitarian". I just don't need to see anymore of Vonleh to see he's not ready to contribute as a rotational player.
In the rotation, he's ready & fine... big minutes... no, definitely not yet:wink:

I kind of it look at this way, we traded Batum, who at Vonlehs' age, we expected him to be much better in 3-4 years.

It's like resetting it, but having a player that is going to actually WORK at getting better, thus a better chance of the potential being realized.

I am so excited to see him in 3 years.

Yes sir!:ygrin:

very impressed with the whole team going at Gobert and Favors. They didn't settle for just the three's. CJ with the floater over Gobert was a thing of beauty. He made it look easy.

Lillard has that 5 foot floater down as well. That was the missing piece of his offense.

For all those interested - my sig has been updated with freshness :)
Were you at the Breakers v 36ers game? I only got to see the second half due to the time difference.

80% of my comments about blazer players are positive because 80% are playing good, but 20% aren't, you're focusing on my negative comments

Fair enough. Though 80% seems a bit high.. Lol.

Because only 1/3rd of my comments are about players in general, and 80% of those are positve, the other 1/3rd are about refs and those are 99% bad, the other 1/3rd just about what happened in the game, so it's about 50% good 50% bad.

i gotta give props to Neil, he's done a good job with de-pussy'fying the team so far, we lost some talent but we gained a lot of aggressiveness.
I've seen Alderidge get dunked on twice this week and in both plays he had his dumb smile on right afterwards...disgusting.

I think they were trying too hard to escape their jailblazer image. I remember seeing LA in college and hoping the Blazer didn't draft him, because you could just tell immediately by his body language that he was soft.

Sinobas, I've enjoyed your posts, especially recently. However, I think you're off base about Vonleh - here's why. When I see him play, especially last night, I don't see a player who sucks - I see a player who is playing very tentatively. He's passed up shots. Sometimes, he'd immediately look to the side for someone to pass to without looking at the basket. He's not playing his game at all. I've seen this sort of thing plenty. It's really the coaching staff's job to get him comfortable, and I have no doubt that he will get there this season and be fine. I'm looking forward to it because only after he's comfortable will we get to see whether he becomes good or actually a borderline all-star, or even better.

He's soft and scared out there. I hate this young guy exuses how come Julius Randall kills ? He missed his whole rookie season and is the same age? I just don't see vonleh as anything special

Respectfully sir, the (0 and 4) Julius Randle has nothing to lose. Julius Randle is also a starter who's been given Carte Blanche. If Vonleh plays selfishly he might be out of the rotation all together. Completely different situation.

Seriously, even if JR was ahead of schedule over Vonleh, why do you or any non-Laker fan care? I care much more about how Vonleh plays in the 2017-18 season than I do about this one.

Yeah... No.... Certainly not on D...
Not on D, but he's got a better all around game.

Aminu:
Defense = 9/10
Offense = 5/10

Harkless:
Defense = 7.5/10
Offense = 8/10

Harkless is still quite good on defense, but clearly Aminu is better. However, Aminu is horrible with the ball in his hands. I don't mind him taking shots when he receives a pass, but when he dribbles more than twice something bad is going to happen.

Cull the weak!
