Looking at their starting lineup; does not look so formidable. Couple of real nice pieces on the bench in Mann and Kennard, although I see if you take out Kennard's game against Blazers, he has been sort of blah.

Defense I think they show they can take away the corners if the over commit towards the middle. Covington needs to learn that. Nance did a great job in the 2nd half of the game the other night.
 
Blazers at least trying some things and playing with a little more effort at times. Hopefully, the defense continues to improve. The Grizz had a TON of open shots the other night, they just kept missing many of them. Rotations are still slow or 2 players are running at the same player leaving another wide-open in the corner.

Those things should improve as at least Chauncey has made that a point of reference. But it's a lot of long-time habits to break.

i agree. I don't know the other teams players and like to see their faces. A bit bigger but still in a line instead of one on top of they other would be great.

about the defense: it would be next to impossible to not improve on defense over last season. Going from 29th to to 23rd would not be a remarkable improvement. And besides 4 game being a ridiculously small sample size, Portland won't be playing 62 home games this year. 40 games into the season, the Blazers will have played 25 at home and 15 away. After that, it's 27 on the road and 17 at home

We don't need the big zoomed in photos of the players faces

But you can zoom in on the dancers.... although that doesn't need to be a zoom of their faces either.

-Don't need such huge team logo in bench unit
-It would be nice if bench unit depth chart was organized by position as starters are. Maybe a row of backups, row below them of third string, last row of injured or scrubs

I already have something in mind to address the first two as well as make the player pictures slightly bigger. Can do the stats next game.
 
There is offense and there is defense….and there is hustle on both ends of the court.

We have yet to display “hustle” for more than a half a game.

If the team can play full-on, non-stop hustle basketball we will win games and contend.

I think it’s really this simple. Stotts allowed lazy play and we need to break old habits. Billups can’t worry if he’s liked by the players as much as Stotts always did - a “coach” must coach!

All the more reason to get starters minutes at or under 30. We actually have a bench that may let us do some of that this season. Then guys can play all out hustle on both offense and defense, especially DameCJ.

That 2014 Spurs team and some of the early Warriors teams won titles with that. It led to elite winning basketball and awesome to watch.
