An old Italian gentleman lived alone in New Jersey. He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament.

"Dear Vincent, I am pretty sad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days. Love, Papa."

A few days later, he received a letter from his son.

"Dear Papa, Don't dig up that garden. That's where the bodies are buried. Love, Vinnie"

At 4 am next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day, the old man received another letter from this son.

"Dear Papa, Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances. Love you, Vinnie"

Utah is on another tier.

Nurk looks a ways away. This alone crushes any hope of a meaningful playoff run.

I agree on your Utah take.

I thought Nurk was an overall positive tonight. The difference between him and Kanter was massive.

A coach with balls and a brain would bench Melo and Kanter until further notice. RHJ should immediately be in the rotation. We need to surround our backcourt with defenders, and pretty much only defenders. We can’t have ANY defensive liabilities out there, and especially not together.

Portland will be overtaken by Dallas in a week. Memphis isn't far behind. I doubt they can win more than 1/3 of the remaining games. Schedule is too hard.

I 100% assure you we will see plenty more of the Enes-Melo pairing, throw in Ant to for that matter.

Robert freakin' Covington is our starting PF. This is NOT due to us missing "our starting PF"...

I agree Cov should be considered our starting PF.

Crazy we've given up 4 1st round picks for Collins and Cov... not an optimal use of assests.

I just looked at the schedule we might fall out the playoffs all together we might not even get in playin games but we will see.

This will have no bearing on playoffs. We were 0-4 vs OKC in reg season and beat them 4-1 in playoffs.

I'd bet we'll be in the top 10.

Didn't ESPN project us 9th to start the season?

You don’t lose your starting spot due to injury in Blazers culture. When Collins returns, he will be starting PF and RoCo will move to the 3.
Highly unlikely. Stotts said "were gonna start our best players". This can not be excused with missing our 7th best player...

Ouch....that hurts.

Well, the Blazers had another opportunity tonight to show some progress against a good team and get run out of the gym in the 2nd half. The Blazers Uprise Postgame Show is about to begin, join us if you want to console each other.

Let.

It.

Go.

Their struggles are not because of a guy who started 11 games over the last 120+ games.

2 first ound picks is worth it for Covington. We essentially gave up one 2nd for Norman Powell so the Collins thing more than canceled out, and if Collins was healthy it may have been more justified.

We might get drafted pick when everything is said and done. Dallas and memphis will probably over take us.

A 2nd round pick for a 2 month rental does not cancel out 2 1st round picks for Collins. Not even close, come on.

By far Portland's best chance of obtaining all-star talent is 1st round picks. We've given up 4 1st round picks for 2 players that will never be all-stars. That's killer.

A non-lottery pick has an 8% chance of becoming an all-star. If we had those 4 picks, you can do the math.

I'll take the odds of drafting an all-star with 4 1st round draft picks over the odds of Cov or Collins being an all-star.

How bad are we against teams this year?

Who cares about years ago.

We suck against ANY playoff west team.

Be present.

I just can't see the ownership not telling Olshey to pull the plug on Stotts as soon as possible. Maybe they will went but longer they wait you just might loose some of there season ticket holders for next year.
