This feels more and more and more to me like an incarnation of the Blazers nearing its end. I just get a sense like I did with the Felton/Crawford team that management felt desperate to have to make a big move to try to win right then, and, as desperation moves are apt to do, it failed and brought everything down and the team had to be rebuilt.
This just looks like we threw all of our resources at the wall hoping something would stick. Next year, it's going to be awfully hard to extricate ourselves from this with no first-round draft pick, little cap room, a very good chance of losing Powell and DJJ for nothing.
I wouldn't be shocked to see a Blazer team next season that is totally unrecognizable to us. It just feels to me like the Lillard/Olshey/Stotts era has run its course, it's gone as far as it can go, and maybe the best thing to do is rip it down sooner rather than later and start again from scratch.
