I don't think there is any team in the NBA in a worse situation than us right now.

Think about the shitty teams; Lakers have a decent looking future, Sixers future is looking very bright, Bucks have great young talent, Heat have figured it out, Wolves and Pelicans have maybe the two most incredible young talents in the NBA. Suns have young talent and have even beaten a few good teams this year.

We are stuck with two ball dominant guards who are black holes defensively, a bunch of overpaid value players, a shitty coach, and an arrogant GM. We're also going to have the highest payroll in the NBA next season. I think the only shittier situation at the moment is probably the Nets.
Does anyone have any thoughts regarding this comment? Is there any organization worse off than us right now? (The Nets don't count, they're the Nets)

If by the trade deadline the team hasn't done anything to address anything, I might throw in the towel on the season.

It's a waste of my time to watch games now.

My thoughts exactly.

Crabbe is an overpaid 3 and done with no defense on a shit contract, and no one will touch Meyers
I think somebody would want Meyers. Crabbe might be harder but who knows. Plus we have those two picks

I mean I can't really think of one. I don't think the Heat are that great off but I don't know their draft pick situation or cap space.

As hard as I try to get invested in this roster...it just lacks identity...I'm really missing the old core these days

Not only do dame and cj not help but our bigs have been an issue. Plumlee just isn't a center, we are always undersized. Wish whiteside would of came here.

I missed the game. From the comments I can't tell if they won. Any help would be appreciated.

actually it was a great game until the last 4 minutes...down 4 and go to Plumlee and Aminu for scoring.....pretty soon down 7 and fouling them every possession until we lost

Michael Holton and dipshit over here let's be yes men and talk about how great the blazers did even though they always lose. Wow look at this play by cj, amazing we didn't win though.

Jesus Christ I can't listen to these guys sugarcoat anything. Dude was right, blazers control everything and it's annoying. Stop acting like shits gonna get better with this team.

The Thunder have surrounded Westbrook with solid defense and rebounding. If you're going to build around a ball-dominant guard, the Thunder are doing a decent job of it.
We don't have any players that amount to Steven Adams, oladipo, Roberson, etc. when it comes to defense. This right here. Westbrook went about 50 percent taking 35 shots. He's able to do that and win because of the surrounding cast. They all can play defense and rebound and provide a little offense but more so defense. We have one or two players that can provide that kind of defense

It's depressing because I don't know where this team goes from here. Dame and cj are fine but the surrounding players are overpaid and who knows what we could even get for them. Jazz moved up. Bucks are super bright with Giannis leading them. Same with Timberwolves but still wonder how zach Lavine will be post torn acl. There is no clear plan and it's obvious this isn't how Neil and them planned on this going. With those other teams mentioned you know they will get better. With Portland the future isn't clear and that's worrying

We are stuck with CJ and Dame? All those teams you listed would trade for them in a heartbeat. You think the Laker's future looks bright? Why because they will get another good lottery pick? At this rate....so will we. Right now the laker roster is not better than ours. Ingram will be decent. Who else on that team would you trade our "black holes" for?

Memphis. They're a lot older than us with big contracts given to Parsons and Conley, and they're not close to contention.

It's almost like Sam Presti is good at this GM thing ...

Ha right now they are 7th in the west and would face SA. If that was us, we would still be complaining because we would not be contenders. You don't think you would be suggesting we tank in that situation?

Would love to know where PA's mind is at at this point. Over 136 mil guaranteed for next year and our only playable big man is up for an extension...can't imagine he's a very happy man right now.

Good GM, definitely. I'd much, much prefer to have him as Portland GM than Olshey. Whether he's a great GM, as some assert, I'm not sure yet. He certainly had an amazing run at the top of the lottery to build a power (though Durant was a gimme). However, he also traded Harden for peanuts and stuck with Scott Brooks' stagnating offense for years too long. The Ibaka trade was a good one, though. Obviously, drafting Steven Adams was a great selection.

Currently, he's sitting on a mediocre team. If he builds another contender, I'd agree that he's pretty indisputably a great GM.

You gotta think the pocket book is now closed for the foreseeable future, so surely Plumlee will have to be traded because I just don't see him wanting to spend any more money on this abortion of a team.

Good god for the hundredth time if the Blazers want to keep Plums they will. All our players are not untradeable. They can dump salaries if they care to. Look how easy it was for Milwaukee to dump the other Plumlee for ending contracts.

But the Thunder are half a game out of #6, 1.5 games out of #5 and are only 2.5 games out of the #4 spot which would mean HCA. Portland is 8 games out of the #7 spot.....BIG difference.

They also have a discernable system of defense. That's a massive difference between these teams aside from just the record. Oh and they have a legit MVP candidate.

Look at possessions in the last 5 minutes of close games, where someone other than Lillard shoots. It's not pretty.

Now pay attention to how much attention Lillard has on him. Then look at who they're leaving open. Usually it's Plumlee (who's always at the top of the key where he can't hit shots from), and Aminu, who's on the 3pt arc (and shoots 27% from there).

What's Lillard supposed to do?
This exactly. Dame gets covered hard most of the time. We don't have enough other late game options.

The lack of urgency from the organization is really troubling as a fan. Another wasted season where we haven't answered any questions from last year.
perhaps the apparent utter lack of a sense of urgency changes soon, one can only hope with the trade deadline looming, but this team is simply dysfunctional and needs some big changes
