Something that gets us free Chicken McNuggets really can't be considered a loss.

I don't know about 'wrench'....but there are too many players. With Hood coming in, a rotation player needed to go out. You can't play 11 players and have players knowing what their roles are....outside of CJ knowing he is going to ISO chuck as much as possible.

Should have been Turner not getting minutes.

Has the aquisition of Hood thrown a wrench in the Blazers chemistry?
Hood been playing good but seems like Stotts don't want piss off anyone because he just nice guy to players that he don't know what rotation he wants. Get a rotation and stick with it he doesn't who ass get there filling hurt. It's to late in the season trying to figure out what rotation he wants.

I watched a possession where Layman was 1v1 on Russ. He did pretty good. Stayed in front of him. Made him take a long two that Russ missed terribly.
A lot of Layman's problems on defense come from being too jumpy. Theoretically, he could be above-average. Just look at someone like Ingles.

Blazers the 7th seed and will play the Rockets. Harden will average 30 FTs and a Blazer sweep AGAIN.

NBA.com has Dame 9-22. And yes, he got a lot of points due to FT's, but the shooting percentage was nothing efficient. Certainly CJ was way worse.

Dame scored 1.41 points/shot. That's pretty efficient. For the season he's at 1.36

Free throws count for efficiency.....

Dame still found a way to be effective, while CJ did not.

They do count for scoring efficiency, but not shooting efficiency. Because Westbrick scored 21 points because he shot 13 FT's doesn't mean he is shooting efficiently to me. Same thing for Dame.

Westbrook was nice and only got a small triple double this time.

Why does he have to make history against us? It's enough they are 3-0 against us. Jesus

Didn't we sweep them last year? So one team has improved more than the other.

Wish it was us.

Layman should be getting 30 minutes minimum. He’s a starter. His defense gets better with experience.

Dame
CJ
Layman
Aminu
Nurkic
Hood
Turner
Collins

The rest can fight for scraps. Ideally we’d sign a vet big as well Because we’re fucked without Nurkic.

Did we? Seems an eternity ago now

Replace Turner with Curry

You’re arguing semantics. Stats like true shooting are calculated for this very reason. Dame was efficient.

Since we're not playing much defense anyhow:

Dame
CJ
Layman
Aminu
Nurkic
Curry
Hood
Collins
Kanter

Agreed. But that's not enough. He needs 12 - 15 shots too. Same with Nurk. Same with Hood.

Olshey gets us another offensive weapon we can really use and he gets 5 shots? Layman and Nurk with 7 each? It's a joke. We could have gotten Otto Porter Jr. or Dario Saric and it would have been the same thing.

Yes we should get more talent but that's not even the half of it. They won't be utilized properly as you see from Hood, Layman and Nurk. I wish this game was an aberration but it isn't. This is our offense.

We have to actually sign Kanter first. Sounds like he is headed to Boston

Meh, that aggressiveness led to some tough shots and a bleh FG% but it also got him to the line a lot, so that aggressiveness was efficient even if it isn't reflected in FG%.

Not really semantics. 'True shooting' was a stat made up to specifically include FT shooting. 9-22 isn't efficient unless you are shooting it well from '3' with volume. His FG% was 41%. Not a HORRIBLE not, but not really efficient either. Because Harden gets 18 FT's on a night when he is 4-18....isn't really efficient to me.

If that is 'semantics', fine. It is also a good amount of brick laying.

Can’t believe I’m still typing this because I’ve been typing this for I don’t know how many years now but Aminu and Harkless should never play together. Theyre both damn near liabilities offensively which puts way too much pressure on the other three, one of whom isn’t a shooter himself. Their defense isn’t good enough to make up for it either.

So pick one and put the other one on the second unit or out of the rotation. It’s obvious which one belongs where. Obvious to everyone except the only person that matters.
