Interesting that Ashija(spelling?) Jones mentioned making space to re-sign Nurk. Hope she doesn’t get fined for that.

The thing is we have two very important players that aren't even playing in this game. Lillard and Nassir Little. We have Elleby playing instead of little and Josh Hart playing point guard with a second unit instead of Simons or Lillard.

It feels like we'd be up 30 if Dame and Nassir we're playing

Actually I'm feeling like this team can keep winning. Can beat anyone because they aren't feeling sorry for themselves. Just going out there, giving their all on both ends, no ego, and leaving everything on the court.

I agree with almost all of that. But they'll be lumps. (but not my lovely lady lumps. Wait...)

At this rate the only way were going to be able to tank is do ONE simple thing .....

Let Billups have the rest of season off and throw a couple briefcases of money to Stotts and let him coach the rest of the season then it would not matter HOW the team played cause Stotts would find a way to lose and increasing the team's odds for a better draft pick. -- #bringstottsback4Tank --- LOL

I don't want Stotts anywhere near the players.

I have seen the dream play and nurk is and never will be anywhere near him.

I'm just wondering if when Dame comes back if he plays more off the ball and he's on board with a more up tempo offense? I know Dame hasn't done well off the ball but I think it may need to happen and/or dame really leans into playing more up tempo with the ball in his hand. Only issue is how much has he ever done that? That may be his biggest off-season adjustment. And if it is, you know damn well Dame is gonna go all in with it.

Never doubt Dame.
I'm thinkin' like Damian Lillard is their big grab this summer.
That's who they add.

has anybody at any time said Dame is uncoachable? (is that even a word?)

Dame is fast, he can run, and be aggressive. It's crazy to me how quickly so many have given up on the idea that Dame can't adapt and his return would hurt the team instead of enhance it. Besides that, Portland has enough player that can run a fast break that Dame wouldn't have to charge down the court at every opportunity. He could trail and seek out the open three

Brandon Clarke was who I compared Brown to during the SL.

Still think that comp is apt

nurks passing is really good, shame they couldnt convert some of the shots

I'm not saying we are going to end the season on a 24-0 win streak. But, these Blazers are going to win a lot of these games, especially the schedule easing up.

I do think part of the Blazers success right not could be because teams don't know how to scout them. But, regardless this fast paced physical play on both ends is going to keep opponents on their toes.

Good point Craig --- I would not mind a better pick but subjecting these players to Stotts would be bad

When healthy, Keon Johnson should start over Elleby
And run Keon at backup PG. 17 assists on 27 made fg so far this game, so it seems like the ball movement on this team is making up for the lack of real PGs on the squad atm.

Others have expressed the same thing, but this truly is refreshing. Even worst case realistic scenario for the season (we end up with two late lotto picks), we’ll still have the TPE, two late lottos, two 2nds, and some cap space to fill out a good enough team to compete next year. Guys like Winslow can build enough trade value too going into next deadline if he can keep staying healthy and is contributing like this but with expectations.

Agreed on both fronts. That end of season schedule was gonna make it hard to tank especially if the cohesion is already there.

I've thought about the scouting angle too. It's hard to defend up tempo, as is evidenced lol.

I never said he was uncoachable. What?

I'm in complete agreeance with everything else.

I said never doubt Dame. I don't doubt him. I was just musing.

Anyone else just have this feeling that "okay, eventually it's gonna come back down. It can't be sustained?" And are also enjoying the good play?

It feels really weird, but as a blazers fan I just feel like I'm perpetually waiting for that other shoe to drop. It's fun! Whatever happens, happens. This is just all refreshing.

Billups ball play hard, play with heart, play team ball. Billups biggest strength is he believes in his players no matter who is playing, no quick hooks no mental games.

Wasn't your post about Damian blending in or joining the team?
I just took it to a more poetic comparison.

Man my post got lost in translation. I was just musing about dame playing off the ball and really leaning into that adjustment. Which I know he can. Weird that got lost but oh well I knew what I was trying to say just sucked at conveying it. Lmao.

Billups is gonna do alright as a head coach.
