Can we never again say a thing about cam talbot for the rest of the season

Ok
a) Where is chuck, distirb and prod?
b) One of the best defensive periods by them ever in the playoffs. Never seen them shut down other team like they did in the third. Montreal did not have a shot until like 10 minute mark.

Third period outside of not scoring was one of their best periods in the playoffs. Really liked the way they attacked the whole period. Al picks up the guarantee win ha ha ha. Henrik I believe now the all time playoff wins leader for the rangers. And al, no one will ask for talbot again unless of course hank gives up a 2nd goal in one of the cup final games. Hope AV has the same result that other first year ranger coach had in 1994 in the cup finals

How they wont tonight is a good point. Just gave Montreal NOTHING. Tokarski was really pissing me off...He had a great series all things considered.

This team is really easy to root for. They roll 4 lines, they work hard. Good mix of youth and vets.

4 more Wins

Hopefully the other one goes 7, and maybe Stepan gets the mask off next week.

In regards to Montreal I'm glad their coach allowed Subban to continue logging an absurd amount of minutes. It's was crystal clear that he was spent last night.

Have to give a lot of credit to coach AV. He clearly has outcoached Thierren and all other bozos in the playoffs. Also kudos to the players for getting Torts out here at the end of last year.

I think AV has the looks of someone who will be coaching here for a long time. Great offensive mind, the right demeanor to handle the ny media and tough, yet fair with the players. What a pleasure to listen to him in the news conferences both wins and losses. The guy never gets flustered. Great pick up Slats.

Looks now like one of the best moves old fart Slats has ever made here hiring AV.

His top moves are
1) Getting Jagr
2) Stealing McD for Gomez
3) Hiring AV

Still led all playoff teams in blocked shots, what killed torts was the unwillingness to roll 4 lines and 6 dmen. Oh and his one sniper was playing with one arm.

That, and that he wasn't a very good coach.

It's pretty much like what Glen Healy said last night when he was with Sam Rosen. The Torts team that went to the ECF was just way to tired in the New Jersey series. Everybody blocks shots these days but it was the grinding style that just wore his own players down. Look at Montreal. I think a similar thing happened to them. They looked like a dead team last night. Honestly should've been a 4-0 or a 5-0 game.

Yes torts buggest failure was not trusting 6 dmen and 12 forwards, it also didn't help his one true snipper couldnt snipe

Not only a grinding style but one that had players constantly diving in front of pucks and always on their knees. Its true they still block shots but do it a little differently now. And the other thing that always irked me with torts is that he would go down to 3 and a couple of times what seemed like 2 lines and 4 D and just ran them out there over and over so that you had guys with 28 minutes and guys with 2 and 3 minutes.

yea, 10yrs ago on a loaded team. His style is archaic and that's why he's no longer a good coach. Just look at VAN, fired after 1yr lol.

Yes, that was the worst habit from the Tort's teams. Girardi was the biggest culprit even this season of falling to the ice and taking himself out of the play completely. I think Ulf and the coaching staff finally broke them of that habit. As for rolling lines it's clear how much that has helped. Playoff game number 20 and the Rangers not only were flying last night but played an incredible third period.

Bottom line is Torts started the process of teaching them how to win and AV is finishing it up nicely...LOL

Who cares torts is in the past, We move on. I woke up this morning and was still emotionally overloaded to the point i wasnt sure it really happened last night. It was supremely fitting that Dominic Moore scored the game winner, good for him! Now hopefully Chicago can push LA one more and get a game 7 going so we can get a team that just went threw a war either way.
