Chauncey’s not just a coach but someone who’s played with the best in the world and was an all star player himself. Yeah, he knows who can play the game.
I don't think a coach would say anything negative about one of his players. Elleby is a hustler and does play some defense but that's about all you get.

Man, still amazed at Ant’s evolution this season. He’s a special player. You can see the confidence build with each game. The game is slowing down for him. He needs to work on tightening his handles and defense and he’ll be an All-Star sooner than later.

The best player on offense for the Blazers is the guy from the G League.

Watford is going to get his shots blocked a lot if he doesn't figure out a different way to shoot near the hoop.

Now I'm hating that 4 game winning streak, even more cause we might not win another game

Elleby either drives wildly into a turnover or bricks a wide open 3, with the OCCASIONAL layup.

'Tank Commander'

....and was hoping to see more of Keon Johson. Get him and Hughes all the run you can. Throw them into the deep end and get them as much experience as possible.

The next 3 games are at Minny b2b and at Utah. I would take the spread against Portland all 3 games regardless of the number.

I wonder if the Blazers will set some kind of record for consecutive blowout losses.

If we can pull off not winning another game then we'll end up with the fifth spot in lotto odds, which actually has a great chance at a top 4 pick.

I just want that pick from the Pels as well. I still think they will have to win two play in games because I don't see them closing the 6 game gap they still have with the Clippers and I also don't see them beating both the Lakers or possibly Spurs and then the Clippers or possibly the Wolves. So I'm really hoping we end up with our pick in the top 4 and their pick somewhere 9 through 11.

I will say that Ant hasn't looked as dominant now that teams have him a little better scouted but he still looks really good and I'm excited for his future.

Minnesota and Utah are better than the team the Blazers are playing tonight.
Exactly. The spread closed at -11.5 tonight. I would think the spread for Minny and Utah would be at least -13.5. I don’t think Portland will keep it within 20 points in any of those games.

there were two little hot streaks. That 6-2 run in mid-January and that 4 game win streak. 10-2 over those 12 games. If they would have went 6-6 in those 12 games, they'd be 21-40 and in 5th seed for the lottery, only 1 game behind OKC

Portland should have started the tank earlier in the year

they had scouted him in mid Jan.

they're outright faceguarding him with two guys near midcourt since Nurk went down. even saw some box and ones in the GS game

Exactly, this has nothing to do with scouting. This is Ant is playing with no one of threat so we’ll face guard him, blitz him as soon as he crosses half court and shade him with a defender on either side.

Look at the bright side. We are actively tanking and lost by 30. The Kings are trying to make the playoffs and lost by 30.

in other words, over the last 12-18 games Ant is getting a taste of what Dame has faced, just about every night, for the last 7 seasons.

when Dame comes back (hopefully not till next season), either Dame or Ant will get single-coverage by the weaker defender. It will probably be Ant meaning he'll get the chance to draft off Dame like CJ had for those same 7 seasons
