Would the Blazers be better now if they had kept Batum?

I admit I was concerned about Hood's shooting and lack of assertiveness; maybe somebody gave him a pep talk. I do really like his demeanor on the court. Hope he sustains his success.

That win didn't come easy. It's nice to see the Blazers not having a letdown after that close loss against Toronto.

Memphis on Tuesday, back home for OKC on Thursday, and finish off the week at home against Phoenix on Saturday. I've got tickets for the game against OKC on Thursday. I'm looking forward to that one!

The more comfortable he gets in his roll, he'll be fine.
He can be our Sweet Lou off the bench...

Nic Batum. $120 million .. 2-7, 8 points. Amazing ROI.

Ah Nic. Rare to see a player so talented who is so determined to just punch the clock and do the minimum needed to keep the paychecks coming. No pride and no heart.

Good win; 6th straight game on the road and after that heartbreaker in Toronto. Tough to get up for a game like this.

Really shows something since we've been on such a long road trip. Want to see us maintain this type of performance.

Damn we could be 6-0 now on this road trip. Not complaining just happy the team is playing well. Now beat Memphis!

Good adjustments on Lamb in second half. Stotts is such a good coach.

When I was looking at this 7 game road trip I was thinking about trying to get together again for a viewing party. But these 10 am games with me working until midnight the day before wasn't gonna happen. lol.

Another genius move to part ways with Batum.

This what I've been saying about Barfo's gal Cortez lately! lol....couldnt resist..

She is head and shoulders above what this forum has accumulated though. Probably knows more about basketball as well. :devilwink:

If only these millennials had the patience of a 64 year old they wouldn't look as foolish. :biglaugh:

Yes, I'm 64 and have no expectation that the Blazers will be back in the finals in my lifetime. To quote the starving buzzard "patience my ass...I'm going to kill something!"

I was once a big fan of Nic - but by the time he left it was actually a relief! Can you imagine how good he would have been if he had Aminu's heart and motor?

Yeah, you can question Aminus shooting and decision making, but you can never question the effort he puts out every night.

I always have high expectations. I just don't get overly emotional over which way it goes.

You need to adjust your attitude. I’m 66 and fully remember that nobody had expectations that the Blazers would be in the finals the year they won the title.

Nothing wrong with that. I would suggest, however, that the "fans" who deserve scorn are the ones who abandoned the team during the "jailblazers" nonsense or the PaterNash era. Those of us who stuck it out have earned the right to be here!

Mt. Tabor has lots of crows these members should at least be well fed. :breakfast:

Thats true and they had a high post center that could pass the ball pretty well and made players around him better.
They also had a few newbies, Corky & Herm.

Seems like yesterday when Herm destroyed the Lakers in LA.

Actually.......I remember back then my wife used to babysit a kid she had taught as a student teacher. The girl’s step father was a huge Blazer fan and had season tickets. He spent a great deal of time (he had a very flexible job) watching them in the pre season (back when most anyone could wander in and watch them practice). I still remember him looking at me wide eyed one day after watching them right before the first game and telling me that this team was special and they were going to blow people’s minds and go all the way. He was deadly serious. I thought he was utterly nuts but we know how it all turned out. The current team shows some amazing flashes on both ends when they’re in the groove, and if they can ever do it consistently for sustained periods I think they have a good of a shot as anyone......
