Biases aside, who do you think deserves MVP this season?

Right now, I've got:
  • 3--POR (49-33)
  • 4--MIN (48-34)
  • 5--OKC (47-35)
  • 6--NOP (46-36)
  • 7--UTA (46-36)
  • 8--SAS (45-37)
What's amazing is how much will come down to the final day of the season, with UTA @ POR, SAS @ NOP, & DEN @ MIN all being crucial games for seeding. That's gonna be one crazy Wednesday night.
So basically six teams ending the season within 4 games of each other and so no one really knows. That is pretty much how i see it also. Literally 2 games deciding possibly having home court up to the WCF.
I actually don't think home court really means that much with this group. It's just who plays either the Warriors or Rock-etts in the first round.

Hopefully, we already have it locked up by then.

Would be nice, but my current projection has us needing that win over Utah to win the division and keep the 3 seed. We'll need to steal a road game (or two) against a good team in order to clinch early.

We'll win outright, not steal. Last year, people said it would come down to the last night and it didn't. We'll clinch early.

What's up with our tie breaker situation?

What's up with our tie breaker situation?
lose to MIN (div record)
win v OKC (h2h)
need to win @NOP 3/27 for that tie breaker (conf record) unless we win division
need to win all remaining div games for tie-break v UTA (div record)
not worried about LAC, SAS, or DEN

I would be very cool playing Minny, UTA, or the Pels in the first round. The others, not so much.

I said this the night we took over third last week, that I believe it will come down to the very end. I think we will go into the 2nd half of our last game of the season not knowing who we will play. I do know obviously that all the teams listed would rather end up 6th and playing us, than 7th or 8th and have to play the Rockets or DUbs.

Depending on Kawhi/Butler I think I'd rather face SAS than MIN. Drawing NOP in the 1st would be ideal, IMO.
I agree with you. I just think we match up better against SA.

Dame has a chance to pass Lebron in scoring tonight and climb to fourth in the league. James is sitting at 26.89 ppg, and Dame at 26.88.

Names behind Dame: Durant/Curry/Westbrook/Kyrie.

I remember pouring over the the Oregonian sports page every morning looking through ppg leaders hoping one day one of our dudes would be at the top of those lists. I used to get excited when ZBo climbed that leader board one season. This day and age, we seem to completely ignore these raw stats, but it's still cool for me to see Dame up near the top.

Quick calcs--Giannis has been averaging about 25/g since the break, whereas Dame has been at 31. If Dame continues to outscore Giannis by about 5ppg, he'll pass him for 3rd in about 5 games. Outscore him by 3ppg, he'll pass him in 9 games. Needs to outscore Giannis by at least 1.7 ppg to pass him before season's end.

I haven't looked at other teams schedules (and I probably should), but I could see both MIN and OKC passing us. Now let me go take a look at their schedules!
We're going to have to lose 4 more games than OKC the rest of the way.

If we beat OKC IN our last matchup, they have a near-0 chance at passing us.

This is like some kind of "moon in the seventh house, Stars aligning with mars" kind of thing. Blazers vs Thunder in the first round and Blazers have home court sending them packing. You already know Dame and CJ were talking to both George and Melo before this season started. Crazy all around.

No Nance either? Their big man rotation is Ante Zizic and Jeff Green?

Nurk should beast tonight again.

I remember when Cliff Robinson had like two good games to start the season and then USA Today did an article about that season's scoring race and included Cliffy.

Of course the Blazers play against a team that have their star center injured ! how lucky !
