doc and the clips will eat terry and co alive next game. who the fuck will guard leonard? or Harrell?? or sweet lou?? the only thing they have to worry about is dame and they will just trap and that's that.

Everyone was saying that Hood and Bazemore were upgrades over Aminu and Harkless.

I understand you don't want to answer the simple yes or no question of if you think Hood and Tolliver (our starting forwards) are quality starting NBA forwards. I'll assume your non-answer means we agree that no, they are not.

Called it... watch the Blazers beat the Clippers

The Blazers can't beat a g league team how are they going to defeat the Clippers in LA

Hood and Bazemore weren't replacing Aminu - Collins was - and YES, he was an upgrade.

That how important Zach and Nurk is for this team. Actually Whiteside is not good defense center. He always had hands down and he is slow especially his reaction to someone going toward the rim. We can't give up over 120 every game and expect to win games.

Nice try. Hood and Bazemore played the majority of the minutes. Yes, Hood, Tolliver and Bazemore are upgrades.

Neil tried to sell us a roster with 0 rotation PFs and 1 SF.

One of our bigs go down and it all goes to shit. A second round rookie PF just dropped 36 on our bigs. Shameful all the way around

I'm surprised more people don't see this. Nurk out, Gasol signed when he probably can't contribute, Whiteside is Whiteside, and that left a lot to hang on Collins, with minimal experience to be the glue guy in the front court. Hopefully everything comes together at the end, but Olshey really tried to thread the needle on this one.

Ok fine. Do you think Hood and Bazemore are quality starting NBA forwards? The answer shouldn't change.

Better talent? We lost Curry, Aminu, Harkkess. We got Whitside + garbage.

Better talent. Without question.

Bazemore himself is better than either Chief or Mo, and he comes off the bench. Curry was OK, but let's not kid ourselves that the NBA was beating down his door to sign him. He's a good shooter and a willing if often overmatched defender. Chief and Mo were inconsistent and offensive liabilities.

Herzonja, athletically and potentially, is at least equal to Chief and Mo, and he comes off the bench whereas they started. But he doesn't fit as well on this team. Whiteside is one of the best defensive interior presences in the NBA and an efficient offensive player.

Here's the other thing: You went from a starting lineup last year of Dame, CJ, Mo, Chief and Nurk to a starting lineup this year of Dame, CJ, Hood, Zach and Whiteside. If you are going to say player for player the latter isn't a better lineup, I don't think you know what you are talking about. The rest of last year's rotation was Evan Turner, Curry, Stauskas, Zach and Meyers Leonard. This year it's Ant (who it looks like is going to have similar stats to Curry), Baze, Herzonja, Tolliver and Skal. Again, if you think the former is better than the latter, I strongly disagree.

But the former performed much better. Because a team is a collection of individuals, not just individuals.

Whiteside is a good defender. Nurk & Zach will help a ton, but we'll still be worse in spite of adding Simons who is already good. We made bad trades.

We'll be fine. Ran into a special performance by Paschall. Not much we could've done when he's 0/8 from three coming into the game and then drops 4 on us in this game. We will be fine. Warriors hadn't won at home yet. They were bound to get one. Yes we are 3-4 but we haven't had a bunch of home games against crappy teams yet and that is how you build a record. Too early to panic.

ok...I'll be honest, I'm kinda pissed but I'm also chuckling because that was such a damn chucklehead clown show.

I refrained from posting because I couldn't decide between jokes and bile; between sarcasm and steam

now, it's just yucks and chuckles...those seem to be perfect for what I just saw

But this team, despite better talent than the last couple of years, doesn't work well together for whatever reason. .

I know a lot of people keep saying that but I ave a hard time believing it and I'm growing more and more skeptical. Tonight sure didn't help the case

and yeah, the Blazers will eventually find a groove and put together a good stretch of games. I don't think they are more talented than last year's team though, no matter how many times people keep chanting the refrain. The only hope is that somehow they'll have better chemistry, but last year was the result of 3-4 years of building chemistry. That's gone

cj is pretty fucking brutal so far this year. If he doesnt get his head out of his ass soon then hopefully he gets benched permanently (yeah I know Stotts wont do it).

Hood and Bazemore weren't replacing Aminu - Collins was - and YES, he was an upgrade.

Upgrade from the worst starting forward combo in the league, I don't disagree. My question continues to be, are our starting forwards high quality starting NBA forwards? People really don't want to answer this question for some reason.

When you roll out two substandard starting forwards, you make your entire team susceptible to nights like tonight.

If no one else wanted to sign him, we'd still have him. He had a second year on his contract with us though it was a player option.

Imagine watching CJ play basketball and thinking to yourself “yeah this is fun” non ironically. He’s like the guard version of old Melo.
