You sir, kindly, don't know what the hell you're talking about. I get paid $62 an hour to do what I do. Division 1 College refs get paid at least $1,100 a game on the low end. $2,200 a game on the high end. When I referee a division 3 game, I get $300 for that hour and a half worth of work. Even when I referee middle school games on the weekend it's $25 an hour. Jussayin'. Now, I referee over 300 basketball games a year. Do the math.

You sir, kindly don't know a compliment when you see it.

He gets prickly when people say refs are contemptable assholes with no brains or honor. You didn't say that, but it does piss him off when you call refs completely corrupt powermongers who act like gun-happy cops with the whistle because they can't play the game. You also didn't say that, but it definitely pisses him off.

Great play for 3 quarters. They closed out on our shooters in the final quarter. Hopefully Stotts can counter that

They've played way better than any rational person would have guessed.

Yes, Sly. Let's support someone trolling someone who was brought up out of nowhere. Great forum leadership

Thank you but if you read thru the game thread you will see that I brought up both of you.

The difference is I did play. And I played CC ball too. I was a player and a Coach before I was a ref. I referee with integrity. That said, I can't stand most NBA referees.

Compliment or not, it was an uninformed comment. Referees get paid an obscene amount of money. Until the recent collective bargaining agreement for referees NBA referees started at 110K a year (now it's 90K). That punk ass Tim Donaghy was making 260K year. My plan is to become a D1 official. Most division 1 officials make around 70K starting.

I go through this with MM about once a year. He points out what an incompetent moron I am. I then apologize to him and to everyone in the forum while admitting that I'm a complete fucking loser.

I didn't realize it was time already.

Disappointing display from Dame in the fourth this game.
He was sloppy with the ball, forced things yet again - but most disturbingly - he hung his head and just let the opposing guards blow by him.
WTF?
That's not the first time I've seen him give up a game early this season either. Not good & a poor example to our youngsters.

Loss is on Stotts too. Both our guards were gassed in the fourth. Stotts needs to manage them better, minutes wise, to keep them fresh and effective.
He also kept Crabbe on the bench when he was red-hot.

P.S. Dear CJ . . Pass the fucking ball!!

While learning experience an ML your are just soft.yea you can shoot a little bit but the rest of your game is soft. 2 rebound in the whole game. Again Stotts doesn't make any adjustment on defense.

After thinking it over, seem to be three problems last night. 1. the turnovers of course; they are trying to play at a very fast pace so I guess this is expected. I don't think they should slow down; they should just work through it even if it means some extra losses. 2. terrible free throw shooting by a couple guys. I'm guessing they have been working on this with coaching and practice and maybe even the team psychologist; but since it is really mostly mental, they may be making the problem worse. This is very difficult to fix. 3. This is a trademark of Stotts. Not recognizing when a player on the other team starts getting really hot and then not doing anything about it. In the past he has occasionally put a Batum on the hot player, but now we don't seem to have a guy like that; presumably Aminu and Harkless are too big. (Could Montero be trained to take on this role, or could Frazier do it?) So it seems double teaming or some other strategy needs to be utilized.

I don't know; to me the offense seems to stagnate if CJ starts thinking about being a PG. The guy is a great scorer; I just want to let him score. If he gets in a jam, pass.

Another issue that was glaring was the lack of a post scorer who you could throw the ball down to and cut off.

Last night was the first time we missed Aldridge this season.

One reason the Blazers might have trouble against a really active shot blocker like Drummond is they are doing everything a full speed, including finishing. They may need to learn to pause a little and try to get the shot blocker up in the air first.

THANK YOU.

Stotts needs to watch the tape on the plane tonight. There's a lot to learn.

AND HEY DETROIT, Stop making buckets! I was close to the prediction!

Learn?
It will be the same shit all over again if we'd met the Pistons tomorrow.
Coaches download Stotts, Stotts can't react.

So much for you wanting to be a NBA ref then.

That's the whole point. I never want to be an NBA ref. You aren't allowed to call travel even when a guy takes three steps on a fast break. The purest form of officiating is at the division 1 college level. That's as high as I would take my career.

So much for you wanting to be a NBA ref then.

Ask yourself this: how come flopping is not a rampant problem at the college level? When you answer that question that will be one of the main reasons why I don't want to referee in the NBA.

Bottom line for me on this game, Blazers with 22 turnovers, Detroit with 9. Not sure how much of that is on Stotts, and how much is on the players themselves.
