So the whole key is Noah Vonleh coming back? Well something needs to happen.

I hope so. I don't know how a guy who hasn't played in preseason or SL this year is supposed to help us, but.....okay.

And they're going to have to pay him a lot of money next summer before getting a very good look at whether he's terrible or not.

I think we'll have an idea by the end of the season. I assume he'll start within the next two games. I was high on CJ Beathard, but with that OLine as bad as it is, he's just not getting it done.

We didn't trust each other tonight. Didn't play team ball and it showed.
Hard to trust players when they missed point blank and wide open looks. Aminu, Harkless and Nurkic are simply not getting it done.

That was just in reaction to the video where they were talking about the advanced stats of Nurkic's 20 game stretch and how good he was with Vonleh and not good without him.

Most salary cap room in the league, so not like it's going to hurt them much. They were willing to go after Kirk Cousins.

They are all better than this game. Aminu was on fire the other night. Nurk is far better then he is playing. Hark was just off to...it was an off night all around...it was contagious....blazers are still very young...they need to learn not to let opponents and more importantly themselves get to their heads

When your team only scores 6 points in a quarter

There are going to be a lot of things the entire team can take away from this. I would not have liked to be in the locker room at half time though. Stotts better have laid into the team. If he didn't, someone probably should have.

I can't wait for @jlprk's play by play of the g-league blazers game on Wednesday.

What to think about this loss?
"Good" things: Denver lost, Pelicans lost, Houston and Memphis lost. We could have the same record as the last ones...

What to think about that one?
Spurs and Clippers lost too. Just about everybody lost, lol. Meanwhile, top 9 teams in East are on winning streaks!

Here is another problem. 39 of the 80 shots were taken by Dame/CJ who have the ball in their hands the majority of the game.

4 assists combined.

The media needs to stop calling the Blazers scheme a 'passing offense'. Dame and CJ pass to each other but that's about it.

The Blazers are trolling us, right?

Nurk says we're now "Bad Boys" in reference to the title winning Pistons teams of past.

All players want a hot start unlike the past two seasons.

We have looked like absolute dog shit over these past four games ... all at home. I'm honestly at a loss. I'm so tired of mediocre basketball. Either win or tank. Just make up your damn minds, Blazers. There was absolutely no excuse for that performance tonight. We got outscored in the paint by a Raptors team without their starting PF and C! Every attempt for Portland should have been in the painted area, yet we continued to jack up 3 after 3. It feels like this group is destined for the 7-8 seed and I want no part of that. Win or tank. Make up your minds, Blazers.

Dame and CJ do need to look to facilitate more (esp to Nurk on the pick and roll), but outside of Ju and Pat, who can we count on to fill it up? Moe and Chief are so hot and cold and Ed is really just a garbage man down low. ET is not a catch and shoot player. We just don't seem to have parts that fit. Anthony Morrow would sure look real nice in a Blazers uni right about now .... thanks, Neil.

So Lowry landed an atomic booty drop on some dude in the front row, where do I send flowers?

The "wake up call" should have been the Pelicans game actually.
We were awesome in the Pelicans game. Only bad thing was Dame was missing shots. But we destroyed them on glass, our defense was great, and our bench was world class. I'll take a game like that every night. Tonight, Dame made his shots. If that's what you judge us by, then you should have been thrilled tonight.

@HolyBackboard I agree there may not be many great options but teammates also aren't really looking for the ball because they don't expect it. So not aggressive by design and no rhythm when they do get the ball. I mean, even lobs like Nogueira kept getting would be an option. It's not like Harkless, Aminu and Nurkic can't jump.

Players just screen for Dame/CJ and then don't do anything with urgency because they KNOW they aren't going to get the ball. That just Stotts' offense. He even mentioned shot selection tonight with something to the effect of, "our players make tough shots'.

I'm gonna stay hopeful and positive. I don't have to tell the Blazers they fucked up tonight, they already know it. Que next game.

We should have been pounding the post early with both their starting PF and Center out of the game, and typically, we chose to attack from the outside. Take advantage of matchups when they present themselves!

The biggest thing that disappointed me was that the effort wasn't there at all.

I can live with guys playing bad, but when they stop trying I'm going to be pissed.

Dame was the only good thing tonight. Maybe we won't see any bullshit threads now. Or maybe the trolls will find a way to pin this on him, too.

CJ was awful tonight. The dude is more efficient than Dame, however he doesn't attack the rim. When he's in the game, the rest of the offense suffers, because he doesn't get the ball moving or going towards the rim.

With Dame, he shoots a lot of questionable shots, however he's able to attack the rim which leads to kick-outs and results in ball movement, other guys penetrating, and better offense.

This is why Dame will always be a better player than CJ. Also, because Damian is twice the defender CJ is.

I’ve heard a couple national media pundits say that this season could quite possibly be what determines whether the team moves forward with the Dame+CJ foundation. I wonder what exactly they’ll need to see. If it’s 50+ wins, it’s not happening.

They might be right but I wouldn't count Olshey on doing it though.

Holy fuck.

Can we get rid of tater tots now?

It's a bit strong to say that CJ makes the offense suffer. CJ IS the offense when he's in, and for good reason.

Also, yes, Damian is better than CJ. It's not a debate and never should be.

Next game well see how Noah's size and speed changes the team. Who knows, it might just be what the doctor ordered.
