Hes too retarded to call a timeout 5 minutes into a scoreless quarter. I wanna know what’s going through his head during that time....

I mean, what are the chances that the blazers would miss THAT many shots anyway? Scott's was probably as shook as we were and probably had some faith that his team would break free from the clutches of futility.

I'm not gonna crap on Stotts because he's proven to me over the course of 5 years that he's a wise coach. A few mistakes here and there do not overtake the rest of his resume as trail blazers coach.

There hasn't been one loss without someone on here suggesting firing Stotts. I'm used to it by now.

We're the same team as last year minus Crabbe. That's on Olshey.

Ive thought he was a shit coach for years...

Well, just got home from work and man I hate to lose, but I know I can always count on the game threads to put it all into perspective. Calm, rational, well thought out opinions backed by facts..... time to settle down and have a read. See you guys soon......this will be a fun one.

All of this obviously is on Olshey, and although this team isn't quite at the calibre we'd hope they'd be at... give credit to Olshey on the quality of talent he's drafted and his almost preternatural ability to buy low and get pretty incredible value on trades.

All the man needs is one big time move or trade and I really think he has something.

I don't hate Olshey I give him credit when it's due. But this offseason wasn't a good one. Not all his fault but he deserves some responsibility for not improving the roster.

It's a bit strong to say that CJ makes the offense suffer. CJ IS the offense when he's in, and for good reason.

Also, yes, Damian is better than CJ. It's not a debate and never should be.

Next game well see how Noah's size and speed changes the team. Who knows, it might just be what the doctor ordered.
The offense is much more stagnant when CJs at PG. It's obvious.

If Blake Griffin didn't hit that game winner we'd be tied for the conference lead, which means all the other teams are dropping games as well. That's the good news.

But man o man they need to get their shit together on offense. Missing shots happens - it's just one of those nights you have to forget - But what do they work on in practice?

Do they stand around and watch as one guy drives into four defenders and then chucks the ball at someone's armpit?

Are they told not to pass, but to instead dribble around for five seconds like they're having a seizure *cough* Aminu *cough* and then take the hardest possible shot instead of passing to a wide-open teammate?

Are the guards explicitly told that they have to shoot a 30 foot three-pointer with 20 seconds on the shot clock at least once every three minutes?

Are they taught that doing safe, intelligence passes are for pussies, and that a real man should consistently try passes that are highly difficult but could look cool if they ever worked?

Do they actually practice missing lay ins?

Do they practice catching passes while standing out of bounds?

If so, they're executing their game plan perfectly.

Sarcasm is strong in this one. Path to the dark side, it is.

Been saying it for at least two years, he's not a point guard! He doesn't make anyone around him better. He's not a playmaker. He's just an elite scorer. And it's ok, but, not a point guard. I don't know why Stotts is trying to force him to be something he's not.

I'm not even joking here, since I know Olshey isn't going to make a trade, when Baldwin gets heathy, we should take a serious look at him. He's not really a point guard either but he profiles well next to CJ with the second unit a lot better than Napier just because of his size and defensive potential.

Lets forget this game. There are many more. Anytime your team scores 6 points in a quarter, proves it was an exercise in futility.

What to think about this loss?
"Good" things: Denver lost, Pelicans lost, Houston and Memphis lost. We could have the same record as the last ones...

What to think about that one?
I think the Blazers have enough problems of their own, that worrying about scoreboard watching is the last thing they should be doing.

1. Are CJ and Dame still BFF?

2. If that game reminded you 'before Nurk era', is there a cancer in this team, that was cut off for a while by Nurk's strong start?

Im not going to judge them that early into the season, but I may soon come back to "we need vets" and "we gonna need Matt Barnes and Ron Artest to shake those pussies maybe".

I didn't get to see the game, what the hell happened in the second quarter, apart from everyone missing?

I wasn't going to watch the replay, but it is Halloween, so maybe I'll watch just the second quarter.

We were 5 seconds away from statisically having the worst quarter ever in Blazers basketball.

We only witnessed the second worst. #nevergofullsuckage

another loss against a good team, we can only beat trash ass teams, this team is fucking mediocre.

I mean, I know that I don't often use the right vocabulary but c'mon, how can you be satisfied with this mediocrity!?!?!

It's sport, we should have the right to dream, I would prefer a season in which we win only 15 games but we have a chance to draft Doncic, Ayton and the others rather than seeing the same old story of Lillard, McCollum and their slumps which end up in getting blown out in the early stages of the playoffs.

Look at Philly, even if Fultz has problems they have two generational superstars like Simmons and Embiid and they can dream big.

Okay then. See you in a few years. No one is telling you to watch. Come back later.

As King said above - we were 5 seconds away from making, not just Blazer history, but NBA history; in terms of suckage.

What's the deal with this team and just showing up un-prepared for teams and getting their asses handed to them - particularly early in games.
It was a big problem last year (the slow starts) and the listless, unfocused play continues to rear its ugly head.

Regardless of how they are regularly touted, this comes down to poor leadership from Stotts and Lillard. If the team comes out, year-after-year looking dis-intersted, lethargic and complacent - and only now after 5-6 years has a notion to play some defense - Well that's just terrible form from our leading men.

Can't wait for this team to receive the huge shake-up (Coach replacement/ Trades) it so richly deserves.

I dont know, Im just hoping our offense will start to flow soon, they all struggling, especially Dame and CJ as our two best players from whom we expect the most... their shots are not falling, theyre not driving to the basket like they used to and theyre getting blocked more than ever, like every single game they got blocked few times

Dame started to drive to the basket in the 4th quarter and I liked that, I want to see that from the beginning of the game, same goes for the CJ... if the shot is off, nevermind, it will come around, but in that case you have to take responsibility but not by taking and missing more shots, forcing things like theyve done so far

we have to play smarter, stronger on offense...

Dame and CJ do need to look to facilitate more (esp to Nurk on the pick and roll), but outside of Ju and Pat, who can we count on to fill it up? Moe and Chief are so hot and cold and Ed is really just a garbage man down low. ET is not a catch and shoot player. We just don't seem to have parts that fit. Anthony Morrow would sure look real nice in a Blazers uni right about now .... thanks, Neil.

The Blazers seem to be allergic to rolling to the hoop on the pick and roll, but Aminu, Hark and Nurk would all be much better suited rolling IMO than shooting jumpers. It worked at first then they stopped going to it. Teams have figured out this offense. Put a lot of ball pressure on Dame and CJ, and let them struggle trying to fight the teeth of your defense 1 on 2 or one on 3.
