Do you think Turner should be moved back to the starting line-up eventually this season?

I have to look at the NBA's top salary list to see that Allen Crabbe is actually making more money than Paul George. I keep not believing it's actually true until I see the number again. Man, Olshey fucked that one up.

How? He's like 2nd in 3 point percentage on mind you a BUNCH of attempts. I just think we don't utilize him that much. We should be using him like Reddic.

Well.......a GOOD coach would coach him not to do it, or come down on his ass when he does.

But we don't have a good coach. Our coach doesn't even know what a timeout is. So indeed....what can we do?

That's very true. But remember Stars run their teams even over the coaches. Unless your a super bad ass like George Karl no coach would want to step on their stars toes and make that suggestion

It's the NBA

Well luckily Dame isn't an asshat so I'm sure he'd be open to a coach getting on him for some shots, but I don't really mind the 30+ footers. If he's feelin' it let him decide to let it fly or not.

Frankly there are two players in the league that I think have earned the rep to take those shots.
Curry is one who won an MVP by taking those shots, but also lost the finals by taking those shots.
Lillard is the other one.
While I personally consider both players taking 30 footers to be bad shots, I can't hate on them for taking them too much. They both have the ability and consistency to hit them.

Bucks are really good defensively, couldn't get a 3 late in the game because of it.
East better be ready.

Well that's exactly what he's deciding to do. Letting those heroball deep 3s fly

I still don't get how Denver is better than us (record wise) I honestly think somehow someway they'll probably get that 8th spot. Yea yea yea I know we have the easier schedule but this blazer team seems like they can't turn the corner for whatever reason.

Keep Dame, Cj, Nurk and Crabbe

Dump the rest of the roster
Keep Crabbe??? Lol.

The dude is a $18M pile of mediocre.

Warning: Extreme Homerism Incoming

Excluding that silly 30 foot try from Dame (for those defending it, just stop), the Blazers were 4 for 20 from 3 (many wide open shots). And missed 10 free throws. And missed at least 15 shots at the rim (not an exaggeration). And allowed less than 50 in each half. These are all very unusual for this squad.

IMO, they played well enough to win handily if they shot even close to their average in any of these areas. To fall so fall short in all three...call it energy, call it intensity, call it focus, call it bad luck...I don't see it as a reflection on how good the team is or isn't so much as a commentary on how sometimes things just don't go your way.

Always tough to see the Blazers drop a game they could and should have won, but I'm very interested to see how they respond. Fully rested on Thursday, with the Knicks in town coming off a game in Utah tomorrow night, I expect a blowout.

Their Defense is REALLY good. They capitalized on every fuck-up we had tonight.

Golden State has even better D, imo.
Their defense isn't all that great, but their length really impacted our Nurk-and-roll in the first half. Stotts made the necessary adjustments at halftime, and we scored 55 in the 2nd half, and probably would have been 60 if we'd stayed with our regular offense over the final 2 minutes of the game.

6 free throws missed and 10 careless turnovers (both first half figures) can make an opponent's defense seem much better than it really is.

I'd keep Noah and Mo too because they are very young but yes. We are exposed when we have to play a team with size and talent on their bench, because we don't really have either on ours.

Mo will be a really good trade chip this summer.

He's 2nd or 3rd in 3 point percentages on a ton of attempts

He's nice. We don't use him right. He should be used like jj reddick
JJ Reddick is making half as much and is a better defender.

I didn't get to see the game, but from the box score, it looks like the bench was a disaster. Turner was one rebound in 19 minutes more effective than if he were still injured.

Because he signed on the old salary cap

Crabbe shoots tons of 3s and is still top 2 or 3

He's nice
The problem is that tater totts can't figure out how to get crabbe more than 2 shots a quarter. Then he might be worth his salary.

Don't forget 2 turnovers

He brings nothing else to the table. He can't create, pass, rebound, or defend. And he's overpriced.

We need 2-way players on reasonable contracts. Guys like Nurkic.

We added one and look at the impact he made. Imagine if we added a couple more. We need guys like Middleton.

I'd trade Crabbe and all 3 of our picks for Middleton in a heartbeat.

ET shouldn't be playing much until his hand is better. -18 in 19 minutes. Ouch.

Was anyone paying attention to Vonleh's defense on the Greek Freak? I counted the Freak going 1-6 while guarded by him, but I probably missed some possessions.

Stotts needs to run a bunch of plays for him kinda like how Rip Hamilton played. Run him off screens for jump shots and 3 pointers.

That's how Rip Hamilton and JJ Reddick kill.

Btw Middleton is considered a rising star player. Before his big injury he was considered untouchable and pretty much still is. He's another player signed on the old salary cap as well.

Got 2 hours of sleep after this before work so can say a little more now. Second quarter aside it was an enjoyable game, I like how we fought in the third and we really did get there in the fourth with 2:30 to spare but somehow completely lost it in that last couple of minutes. I was a bit disappointed with Nurkic's defense and scoring last night, the way he dropped the ball in the last minutes leading to a turnover was really clumsy. Still like his effort and think he is going to be our starting center for a while. Dame was good as always but the long three pointer he attempted with 40 seconds to go or so, with time still on the clock, was rather silly and I would prefer him not to do that too often. The final possession I did not have a problem with, did not hope for too much as they are always tough when you need a three pointer. I don't know why teams do not attempt to foul on them more often, you get two free throws and have to foul from there, it's more safe than waiting and seeing if the opposition makes a three pointer or not.

Another downside is that I only missed Portland's win on an NBA accumulator which would have won me a hundred dollars. Can't get them all right. Out of last 20 games I put money on I got 18 right though.

Still reckon we will make playoffs if we play like this (second quarter aside). Knicks are next and this should really be a comfortable win.
