I don't think anybody is suggesting Portland should become a habitual tanker. What many are suggesting, including myself, is that the best result for this season isn't a half dozen or so absolutely meaningless wins in the last third of this season, but rather the best chance at lottery position.

I know that but we git Dame without being a habitual tanker. Cunningham is a nice player for sure.

go back and look at who we started in games to finish out the 2011-12 and tell me that we didn't tank. we didn't get Dame with that pick, but we climbed our way to the 11th pick in the 2012 draft (meyers).

we did the same thing in 2012-13 and lost 13 in a row to finish the season to land CJ.

he dominated in Iowa last year-- had some of the best stats in ncaa history while at Iowa with a super high usage. Garza had a 36 PER his senior year.

obviously different kinda players, but it worries me about another Iowa player with high usage this year who is projected to go in the top 10: keegan murray.

The three worst teams have the exact same lottery odds. OKC is trying to climb to that scenario, so it makes sense why Detroit is tanking tonight being only 1 game up on OKC for the #3 spot in the lottery rankings. .
