What that graph shows me is that Portland has had a bad finish to the season both last year (5-5) and in 2014/15 (4-6). In both cases that poor play leading into the playoffs resulted in poor outcomes in the playoffs (4-0 sweep to Pels last year; 4-1 loss to Grizz in 14/15). I’m not really too concerned with where the Blazers finish in the standings as long as they’re peaking and playing their best basketball going into the playoffs — that, to me, is more important than seeding.

You have portland listed for both teams.

Did hcp make this thread?

People really need to stop questioning @Darkwebs . His attention to detail in these threads is incredible. He never makes mistakes.

Calm down. Honest mistake.
Some of us know this and are waiting desperately to call him out on something.

Its just today is not that day.... again.

Perfect people suck! Lol.

that graph is lacking context IMO

to start with, the 14-15 team has almost no bearing on the current team. Only one starter remains from that team, and only 3 players are the same...and one doesn't play while the other is injured

the graph should be the 4 iterations of the current team, and even then, I'd question if much could be projected from it

in 16-17, Portland won 12 of their last 16 games, 9 of their last 12, and 3 of their last 4, & Dame-CJ-Harkless didn't play in the game they lost....still, the Blazers were swept in the 1st round. Yeah, it was the Warriors but they lost the games by an average of 18 points

the year before, they won 7 of their last 9 and won the 1st round but we all know the circumstances of that series against LAC

even last season which shows up on that graph, they did lose 4 of their last 5. But prior to that they went 17-3. That's 18-7 over their last 25 games and you'd sure think that was a significant indicator of how they were playing

One major person in common: Terry Stotts. Dame too, of course. So I think it's valid to study both years.

Is it me or do the Blazers ...

Oh, nevermind.
I just had a look at AC's stats this year. ooof.

< 8 PER and shooting 29% from 3 this month. They did us a favor in taking his deal even if they tagged us on with dead money. Neil should not have stretched that Nicholson contract, but still my point remains.

Would someone explain to me why we haven't already clinched the playoffs? Don't we have the tiebreaker vs Sacramento? I don't recall them beating us.
I explained this to you last game thread when you asked. We still play Sacramento once more so the tie breaker is yet to be determined. The possibility of multiple teams being tied, not just the Blazers and Kings, still exists as well and we'd likely lose most of those tie breakers.

Nothing’s Easy, another tough game. Continue to protect Home Court.

3 game road trip after this one so we need to protect home court and win tonight. We don’t know if our bench will show up on the road without CJ.

So far the Grizzlies are doing a pretty good job against OKC.
