Another game when 3’s are not falling

We're settling for easy, out of rhythm 3s because they are giving them to us. We can get any shot we want if we're willing to work a little and attack them instead of just taking the low hanging fruit. That's what happens when you play shitty teams. Take the bait and play shitty and down to their level, or play your game and blow them out. We're taking the bait.

How are the Blazers losing to this team?!?

And yet, we're still shooting way to many of them... Dirk is their starting C, and they have no C off the bench that should stop us from driving inside. Yet, Aminu's shot 7 threes in the first half.. I know he hit two but we should be working them inside...

We've shot 25 threes, and 21 twos. We've shot 7/25 on 3s (28%), and 12/21 on 2s (57%).

That's the one thing I can't stand about this team right now. We settle for jumpers way too much. Many of those twos were mid-range jumpshots... Nurk even shot a couple. It's the biggest weakness of ours is our tendency to settle. Shots aren't falling, and we keep settling, and we can lose to anyone.

Which is exactly why we're losing against Dallas right now.

Exactly.

Settling for jumpers and not making them. We either need to make more of them, or stop constantly settling for them.
Stotts has consistently said that he tells the players that he considers any open shot to be a good one.

Unfortunately, I don't think he's ever coached them to turn down a good shot to look for a great one.

Yeah, but he also doesn’t look good out there, looks like a future G League legend. Not every player can make it, he looks like one of those guys who will get left behind.
Waste of a pick. I wish we dumped Meyers' contract, maybe picked up a 2nd, and taken Brooks. Imagine having Brooks and Vonleh instead of Meyers and Swanigan... We still could've traded Vonleh though. I wasn't high on him. Just so much more we could've done with that 26th pick...

What were we thinking, when we drafted him?

He looked like Ed Davis with an ability to hit the outside shot? Problem is Ed's got enough size and athletic ability to be useful even without the shot. Swanigan doesn't, and he hasn't been shooting well.

Great point. Great shots are made more consistently.

Why couldn’t we have known Kuzma was good?? Lol him off the bench? Fugettaboutit

Uh, no. He was nothing like Ed Davis coming out of college. Davis is a quick jumper, while Swanigan can barely jump and is slow on that end. Ed's also much bigger, a much better defender, and brings a lot more energy. Swanigan is nothing like Davis, and you could see that even when he was putting up great numbers at Purdue.

Just got home. Missed the first half.
See Napier is playing well according to the box.

Ehhh, Kuzma's overrated. He can score, but that's about it, and he isn't super-efficient and he overachieved to start the year... would've been a good pick there, and he'd be helping us right now... Idk.

We did the worst thing possible with that pick.

I mean that he could fill a similar role. A guy that works hard off the bench and grabs a lot of rebounds.

We're gonna lose the 3 seed because we lost to the Grizzlies and Mavericks... Lmao.

No he can't. Swanigan is no where near the rebounder that Davis is, especially offensively.

Open Dame or CJ 3 I'm fine with. Anything else.. Ugh.

DIRK IS THEIR CENTER....

Oh look, we tried to get to the rim and got an easy lay-in...

Yay, Aminu brick3.

2-8, recipe for a loss.

No shit, that's the problem. He hasn't done anything well. In college and summer league Swanigan inhaled rebounds like they were oxygen and everyone was excited about it.
