One of the most frustrating things about CJ is that he'll just take possessions to "hunt" his shot. Like you know he's shooting. Doesn't matter if someone else is hot, or if there is a better option. He's putting that ball up. One of Dame's greatest strengths as a leader is deferring to other guys when they're playing well. There's no way Dame takes a contested midrange two after Ant has just scored 12 in a row. Just absolute bonkers.

Yep. If we're thinking about the same play, the double went to CJ, leaving Simons wide open for a three. CJ looked right at him, had a passing lane, but instead dribbled in for a contested shit shot. I almost never complain about CJ, but I came unglued on that one.

He has no problem passing the ball or doing dirty work. He'll be a good 3 and D roll player for us down the road when the bigs get back

Yeah i've been thinking that also.
Right now he is not in the role he came here for. Blazers are lucky to have him right now. Sure i wish he was scoring better. But in years past we brought guys in like Marcus Camby and Chris Kaman for back up roles and asked them to do much more. Injuries have that effect.

Im not all that upset about the season so far. I miss Nurk, but I knew they would struggle the first 20 or so games, obviously need to start picking up some W’s so they don't dig an insurmountable whole for themselves, long season though.

Honestly been pretty quiet basketball-wise. At this point everyone seems to just be looking to vent frustrations (understandable), not really looking to talk basketball. Game threads are pretty hostile right now too, funny that the OT section is less ridiculous than the Blazer section...

easy on the butter and salt though as this is a long season and the game threads can be very toxic.

Feels like we aren't getting any breaks to start this season. Lots of close loses, lots of injuries. The bright spot is that Simons looks like the real deal. If only a few thing went differently we would be talking about how Simons won us the last two games

It has been a tough start of the season and we are definitely struggling, but past years we have been a much better second half of the season team and have often struggled out of the gate and this season the schedule has been tough with many road trips. Still plenty of time to get this ship righted.

Maybe because he's learning from CJ to "get his" no matter what

Majority of Simons shots was good shots. The difference between Simons and CJ is that CJ will dance around with dribble to find a place to shoot. Simons is catch a shoot or he makes a one move to get to a point on the floor to shoot. So it real big difference between the two.

Imagine if that last second shot by a Mavs player went in for the win, we could be 2-6. It’s OK, 5 game winning streak starts now.
