I hope our guys don't let up if NOP is not at full strength. Psychologically, I'd prefer to beat them with AD, but at the end of the 82 game schedule, all wins count the same in the final standings. A win is a win. Let's get this one!

No way BNM, it's just more luckiness and they only count as 72% of a win.

Ok, but for the record and UTA's and DEN's wins over NOP also only count as 72% of a win as well.

Also, for the record, last season teams 3-9 in the West all had between 7 and 9 "lucky" wins (wins over an opponent that was missing their best player). The Blazers were right smack in the middle of that group with 8 "lucky" wins. Despite the perception that we are luckier than most, it tends to even out over the course of an 82 game schedule.

Wrong again BNM, all other team's wins other than the Blazers count 100% no matter what the circumstances.

Was Davis listed as doubtful last night before the Lakers game?

Man, James harden out and now possibly AD? can't wait till more stars miss games against us and people on the forum can continue to say we got lucky with injuries even though, you know, they happen all the time. Other teams should be lucky Meyers Leonard is inactive most of the time to be honest...

No (they played GSW, not LAL). It wasn't a game time decision, it was announced several hours ahead of time that he was playing.

I'm kind of surprised they chose to play him 41 minutes against GSW and then rest him against us. To maximize their chances of winning, you think they would have given him an extra night off against GSW and them had him rested and ready for POR. Seems like kind of an ass-backwards decision to me.

Oh well, LUCKY us!

Damned 6-1 Thuggets

I'm curious if you took into account occurrences where both teams were missing their best player(s) - say if HOU played GSW and both Harden and Curry were out, do both teams get a "lucky game" tally in their column?
Given our health, I could see most/all of our "lucky games" being played with all of our best players, whereas other teams "lucky games" were actually washes with off-setting injuries...in which case we really were more lucky than most.

It wasn't my study. Knock yourself out:

The author actually does a good job slicing and dicing the data several different ways. Here's the data you specifically asked about:

You'll need to read the article to get the full context (for example, Kawhi Leonard and Gordon Hayward were not included in his data set, since both missed pretty much the entire season).

Anyway, it's a good article.

I want the teams we face at full strength so that there are no excuses. Houston was an easy win; they were utterly depleted with injuries. Let's not give NO the same leeway.

No Ad? I ain’t goin’. I’d just as rather watch it on TV . Laterz, y’all.

Davis elbow not 100 percent and look like effect shot. Plus he took hard fall right on the elbow so it might be pretty sore. That might be the reason he is doubtful.

Christ, I forgot it's on TNT.

Sigh. So I suppose this means that they are going to be sucking off the entire NO team, and not so much as a reach around for us.

AD doubtful, NO on a b2b, we’ve gotta capitalise here
