Can’t put him with Kartye and Sheary. Kartye is a 4th liner. Sheary is not an NHL player.

Worked out perfectly, they played reasonably well, and lost, which means they'll finish as the 3rd or 4th worst team in the league as they cannot catch the Leafs or Kraken now even with a win at TB.

They are currently tied for 3rd worst in the league with the Flames, both have 75 points, the Rangers have played 81 games, and the Flames have played 80 games. The Flames have a game in hand, and they own the tiebreaker as they have more RW's than the Rangers. So, if the Rangers lose at TB, they end up 3rd worst for sure. We'll see if TB wants to play to win tomorrow night as all they have left to play for right now is home ice in round 1 against Montreal, but if Montreal loses at Philly tonight then TB clinches home ice in round 1 and will have nothing to play for. The Flames host Colorado (nothing to play for) and the Kings (playoff positioning to play for) in their last two games. Let's hope worst case the Rangers and Flames match each other to end the season.

If the Rangers pass the Flames and end as the 4th worst team, they'll have an 9.5% chance of winning the lottery and picking # 1.
If the Rangers stay behind the Flames and end as the 3rd worst team (where they sit currently), they'll have an 11.5% chance of winning the lottery and picking # 1.

Also, the Kings made the playoffs so there is at least a chance the pick they got for Panarin can improve by a round.

Unless they meet the oilers lol I think and I could be wrong. they’ve lost like 4 straight playoff series to the oilers in the first round

It will come down to game 82 to determine the round 1 matchups in the West. As we head into the last game, the only locked in West matchup is the Wild-Stars, with the Stars having home ice. Literally every other matchup will be determined by game 81, even though all 8 teams are locked in.

The Kings can play Colorado, which is who they'll play if they finish as a WC since Utah clinched the top WC and will play the Pacific winner (this is where the Kings sit currently as we enter game 82). The Kings can also play Vegas, Edmonton, or Anaheim. The only teams the Kings cannot play are Utah, Minnesota, and Dallas.

Vegas has home ice in round 1, either against Utah if they win the Pacific, or against the Oilers, Ducks or Kings if the Oilers get 2 points and Vegas gets 0 points, which would give the Oilers the Pacific division win based on the RW tiebreaker, and Vegas would finish 2nd in the division.

The Oilers could win the Pacific, or finish as the 2nd WC and play Colorado. If the Oilers get 1 point in their final game, they'll have home ice in round 1, which they will since they host Vancouver in their last game. So you have to expect the Oilers win that game, end with 93 points, and finish 1st or 2nd in the Pacific, with home ice, depending upon whether Vegas gets a least 1 point at home against Seattle tonight.

The Ducks are just like the Kings and can play Colorado, Vegas, Edmonton, or LA.

My best guess is this:

Vegas gets at least 1 point home against Seattle and Edmonton beats Vancouver in Edmonton. That would give Vegas the Pacific division, they would play Utah in round 1. The Oilers finish 2nd in the Pacific and will host either Anaheim or LA. The Ducks and Kings will play Colorado and Edmonton, just not sure which team plays which yet. The Ducks play at Nashville; the Kings play at Calgary, difficult to predict those two games, but the Kings will need to gain 1 point on the Ducks to finish ahead of them and play Edmonton instead of Colorado since the Ducks hold the RW tiebreaker over the Kings.

Long story short, unfortunately, barring Vegas getting 0 points against Seattle OR Edmonton getting 0 points against Vancouver, both HIGHLY unlikely, the Kings will NOT make it past the first round (if Edmonton gets at least 1 point against Vancouver the Ducks/Kings cannot finish better than 3rd in the Pacific/the 2nd WC - which means the Ducks/Kings play Vegas or more likely Edmonton and Colorado). The Kings are almost assuredly going to play Colorado or Edmonton in round 1 (long shot Vegas if Vegas gets 0 points against Seattle in Vegas), which means goodbye in 5 games, maybe 6, see you next season. The Kings are not beating Colorado or Edmonton; therefore, they are not making it past round 1.

Meanwhile, the East is 100% locked in:

Sens-Canes & Flyers-Pens in the Met bracket AND Bruins-Sabres & Canadiens-Lightning in the Atlantic bracket.

Should be an interesting final two nights to determine almost all of the West playoff matchups for round 1.

With Montreal's loss last night, TB has clinched 2nd in the Atlantic, and home ice against Montreal in round 1. That means TB has absolutely nothing to play for tonight, so I expect the Rangers to win and get a meaningless 2 points.

I also think there is a reasonable chance Calgary gets 0 points at home against the Kings, which means the Rangers finish 4th worst, and will have a 9.5% chance to move up to # 1.

BUT I will say this, it is possible Calgary could beat the Kings in Calgary, meaning the Rangers finish 3rd worst with an 11.5% chance to win the lottery.

The only thing that will surprise me is if the Rangers lose in TB tonight, I fully expect the Rangers to win that game, which means nothing to TB. If the Rangers somehow lose in regulation though, not happening, they will finish 3rd worst since Calgary owns the RW tiebreaker over the Rangers.

As expected, Vegas won last night and clinched the Central. That means you now have two series locked in the West:

Utah-Vegas AND Minnesota-Dallas

If Edmonton gets a point at home against Vancouver, and they will, the Oilers will finish 2nd in the Central and get home ice in round 1 against the Ducks or Kings. The "lower" team between the Ducks and Kings plays Colorado. So, the Kings will either play the Oilers or the Avs, either way they are done in round one.

The Ducks have the RW tiebreaker over the Kings, so the Kings need to gain 1 point on the Ducks tonight to play the Oilers instead of the Avs. The Kings are at the Flames; the Ducks are at the Preds. Both games could go either way, but my guess would be the Ducks maintain their edge, and the Kings will play Colorado in the first round.
