Ahhh why does it take games like tonight for ppl to finally realize what I been saying

Our defense is beyond trash for playoff basketball

God I wish the West wasn't so bad this year

Seriously, most of us have seen this tired act before. This isn't new or original. Always point out the negative, keep repeating it, and anything short of a championship you run around thumping your chest while claiming how right you are. You're not even very good at it.

You really do need to stop, come up with something original, or you need to leave.

Listen idk why ppl are taking this loss as the holy grail to finally realize the playoffs is pointless

For the first time all season I can tell ppl are realizing what I been saying?? I just have one question

Why now?? Nothing has changed our team is really good and proved a lot this year. I personally believe we won what we wanted for this year. Big time won

How? I said this year has been a major success

We have a great Gm, a great leader in Lillard but playing in the playoffs for bragging rights is short sighted

And yet you actually believe the great leader should intentionally lose games?

Yeah. Well get the fuck over it. We are in the playoffs, and we know how you feel about "losing assets ". Stop repeating yourself. It is too late.

Its not about that. It's about always talking shit about the team and Lillard when their doing bad, and then disappearing when they do good. You posted once during the Golden State win and never gave Dame credit, but he whenever he does bad you're always there to talk shit about him and knock him. Same with the Blazers. They play good and you never once say something positive as you disappear. However in a game like this, you're all over the board. Not once did you give Dame credit for his 4 point play. However, Towns makes a basic layup to win and you act like he's the second coming of Christ, and talk about how great the other team is. It's unbearable.

The thing is you won't have any sort of response that makes sense to this
@Tunchi I'd LOVE to hear your explanation for this

"But it's pointless, don't you see? We're losing an assett!"

Defense requires buy-in from the refs, period. Good physical defense can't happen without the refs swallowing their whistles. Refs call reputation. Defense (holding screening, leaping over backs, pushing, etc) to me is the most rigged part of the game.

That's not to say we don't make some of the dumbest mistakes in the league. But the foul disparity is frankly usually at least partially bullshit.

I'm not really looking at it on a game by game basis. Overall we should not be 20th in the league.

I look at a team like the Boston Celtics, sure they have better perimeter guard defenders, decent wings, but they also have a short defensively challenged point guard, and I would argue their interior defenders are even more inept than ours.

Brad Stevens has them playing top 5 defense.

I don't get it, I know our personnel isn't great, but the majority of our rotation players are neutral to positive defenders. Davis, Aminu, Harkless, Crabbe, Plumlee, Hendo, even Vonleh. We should NOT be this bad. 12-13th I can stomach. 20th and shoddy possession defense I cannot.

Two noisy crack hoes rootin' for Minnie behind us, claiming a personal connection with a timberdog player, just up and left when Dame threw that miracle 3, everybody cracked up . . .

The only way to deal with a troll is to ignore it.
Yep.

Have you guys learned nothing with MIXUM?
Is Tunchi Mixum?

Because Stotts dumb ass doesn't let the help defender hedge on the pick n roll

You take what the defense gives you and play the foul game.

I will say I have never seen "the foul game" be successful. Sincerely, have you? Have you ever seen a team down and start to foul and somehow win it? Once in a blue moon, but I am shocked at how often the strategy is used given how very, very rarely it pays off.

NBA refs decide all close games. Happens every time.

Why does he have to stop or why does he have to leave. I have never seen him attack other posters or insult other posters. I don't think he is even trying to incite other posters; they do that to themselves. I think it is absolutely wrong and authoritarian in nature to threaten to kick him out.

Disagree. Look at Avery Bradley. That dude has footwork and doesn't let you drive by him. He's always in excellent position. Compare that to our guards who give direct line drives straight to the rim.

Celtics didn't have the roster turnover we had. We returned one player who played over 1000 minutes on this roster last season and is playing a significant role now; and he's not necessarily any better a defender than Thomas. Stevens has had years to teach the defensive principles to the majority of the same roster with only one or two changes.

Hey I have concerns about our defense too; but Stotts has improved defense significantly in the past so I'll give him the chance to do the same next year too.

I love the Blazers just know that

Ps this forum love homers

Oh god, I said something original. Not the, "people don't like me because I'm not a homer" act. Seriously, you have to try harder.

18th, 12th and 4th, those are team defensive efficiency ratings under Stevens. Benefit of the doubt? I'm not sure.

There was a period in the year where our defense was actually doing better, but then it regressed again, and to even worse numbers. What the heck?

For the record

We will be very good next year. Olshey is very smart I just wish we didn't make his job harder losing a pick this summer

God I wish the West wasn't so bad this year
Actually, the West is still the stronger of the two conferences with a win percentage of 0.506. Not as strong as last year (0.525), but still the stronger conference.

The Timberwolves played well tonight. It was a good game, unfortunately we ended up on the losing side by a single point. Sucks.

I'm glad to see Dame and CJ both have a pretty good night. That hopefully bodes well for the playoffs.

The win totals for Minnesota over the past few years:
2015-16: 28
2014-15: 16
2013-14: 40
2012-13: 31
2011-12: 26
2010-11: 17
2009-10: 15
2008-09: 24
2007-08: 22
2006-07: 32
2005-06: 33
2004-05: 44
2003-04: 58 (playoffs!)

This will be Minnesota's 12th consecutive season missing the playoffs. If that's what success looks like building thru the draft, I'll pass.

I'm proud of the Blazers making the playoffs this year! Let's give 'em hell!!

Worst part is now I have to root for the Crappers to beat the Mavericks.

Takes love thy enemy to a whole new level.
