No shit, hey tankwop, enjoy the "if" playoffs and we are going to worry about the actual playoffs.
I know Kawhi wasn't 100%, whether it was physical or mental, and I'm not saying the Spurs are better without him, but you have to wonder if Kawhi and Aldrisge can coexist. It seems like they both want to be THE man and get their feelings hurt if they aren't. Kawhi played in Duncan's shadow, and should have been the heir apparent. Then Aldridge pouts and asks for a trade, but Pop appeases him and makes him the focus of the offense.
In any case, the Spurs record was better without Kawhi (42-31 = .575) than it was with him (5-4 - .556), but what is really telling is the teams the Spurs beat with Kawhi were LAC, BRK, NYK, PHO and DEN. The Spurs did not beat a single playoff team with Kawhi in the lineup this season. And, all but the Knicks, post Porzingis injury, were at home.
I know, I know, small sample size, he wasn't 100%, etc. But I think there are larger problems in SAS and it will be interesting to see how this power struggle plays out.
