I'll disagree with you on that. They allowed the 3rd fewest goals in the NHL.The downfall of this team this year will be the defense. It's just not good enough. Instead of Kane that should've been the focus.

In addition to that, what move would you have made? Which of the 6 dmen would you ship out to improve? I guess maybe you say Mikkola, but truth is he's been solid. He is very good for a 3rd pair dman. I actually like the Rangers D 1-6, and think most teams don't have the depth we do.
I think it's kind of simple for the Rangers, play North-South, shoot the puck, and minimize the d-zone and neutral zone TO's and we'll go a long way.
I think most teams need their goalie to be their best player, or close to it. Unless you have a super team of stars, you need your goalie to play very well. They will go as far as Igor carries them. If he's off against NJ the off-season will start early.
I think it is this. At the end of the day results are all that matters, but I am very annoyed with Kane because I think it's mental. The guy had 92 points last year, the guy was rolling this year before we traded for him, then he comes here and just tries to fit in and be a guy. I think he needs to get some balls and understand he is Patrick F'ing Kane, and we jumped through all these hoops to get him here not to be just another guy and blend in. He needs to man up IMO.He seems very comfortable playing a cursory role and that is not what the Rangers were expecting to get from him. He'll need to turn it up quickly.
