Oh I know that. But I am just suggesting that Miller should not be getting blamed totally for this loss. It is true he was not good as far as passing/moving the ball tonight and he pissed away our possession when we were down 3, but he is hardly to blame totally. I am also saying That Roy iso is just as dumb as Miller iso is, but PapaG would of course disagree since it got us wins, but did nothing in the playoffs.

The blame for this loss goes on Roy, Rudy, Wes, and Nic......their inability to hit anything from outside has been killing us lately/the entire year

I'm amazed at how much Blazer games mirror the day I've had up until the game. So this morning, I got to work, and after dicking around on the internet for a bit, had two hella productive meetings and just impressed some people. I continued to work through lunch, and did well until about 2pm. Then I decided to fuck it, leave work early and catch the game at home. I stopped at the bar, had a couple of beers and an early dinner, and about half an hour before tipoff, answered some e-mails and impressed my boss again... but it was too little too late. I was overall lazier than I was productive.

In the end, anyone but the Lakers.

Dallas most desirable opponent
SA less so, but Blazers can match up with them a little bit and beat them a lot
Lakers....not a chance in hell Blazers win. Playing them in the 1st round would honestly ruin the playoffs for me because I know there's no chance they would lose

That is what I think as well, basically all of these guys are showing exactly who they are, streaky shooters (and it does not help that they are just shooters and none of them can attack the rim). The only consistent players on this team are Aldridge, Wallace, and Miller while everyone else is streaky as hell.

Btw I think it's a joke Camby only got 17minutes. By far the best rebounder on the team and he hardly plays anymore.

Nate, get it together.

Yeah combined with our horrible defense, my optimism is decreasing rather quickly. It appears that teams have learned that Roy struggles with high pressure on ball defense and any ball handler with a pulse.

Absolutely agree on all points in this post.

just checking in to see if its a meltdown thread... do I stick around? :p

Why, are you just a Good-Time Charley?

oh you know it.. those Telfair to Khryapa years were the best of times ;)

Very frustrating game; but, it was fun to post unfiltered and unfettered by taste, intelligence, or subtlety. It's nice to know how the other half lives! :ghoti:

LOL! Telfair to Kryhapa to HA! Bingo Bango Bongo!

John Nash- "We were considering taking HA in the 1st round" good thing they got the steal of the draft in Monia and Ha still fell to them :)

Ouch. When you shift over to negative, you really GO NEGATIVE. I didn't mean to challenge you to go negative!

it gets even worse man.. that was just a warning shot :D

Of course not, you are always on his nuts. Roy sucks just as much as anyone who people have called out tonight. And yes, Roy-iso led us to 50 wins, but it also led us to one and done playoffs. Roy was good back when he was not injured, but not anymore. Oh and his defense sucks as well, though, you probably would think it is great.

I don't think it's his fault he "sucks", it's his knees' fault. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

This loss was on Nate. He took Batum out and forgot about him. Instead, he choked and put Roy in thinking this was the 08-09 Roy.

Batum wasn't playing well offensively, but his defense was definitely affecting Chris Paul. Batum's length makes it difficult for Paul to shoot over him and affects his passing vision and angles. When Batum was in, Portland extends the lead. Nate yanks Batum, NO comes back and takes the lead. Batum comes back in and Portland comes back...

It is really sad to see Roy out there sometimes. His liability on defense is just so glaring. Whoever Roy was guarding the Hornets were attacking. Jarrett Jack and Willie Green blew by him easily.

Roy's 1 and done playoff appearances get looked over. Miller's are his critics biggest criticism.

Roy had a PER of 26 against Houston, and he played less than two weeks after surgery while entering the PHX series down 2-1.

The Roy bashing on this board never ceases to amaze me. Especially from a guy who rides Kevin Love's jock for a living.

That's where yet another Andre Miller weakness comes into play. Paul can defend Miller, but Andre has to go elsewhere to hide on defense. Nic was terrible on offense, and Nate had to try and find some from other players.

Nate, get it together.

We have a bad small to big ratio (Of players deserving of playing time). Honestly I think we could do with a lot less Rudy. Meaning more Gerald at the 3 and more Camby.

Paul CANNOT guard Miller. Andre was posting him up easily so they switched him to Batum or Matthews.

We needed Nic's defense more than anyone's offense tonight. With Nic's defense, Portland had the lead. And trying to get offense from Brandon wasn't working. In fact trying to get offense from Brandon resulted in New Orleans getting easy offense.

Which stagnated the offense, and led to a loss. Miller posting up on the block isn't going win in the playoffs. If that was Nate's idea, I have to blame Nate as well. Posting up the PG is a stupid idea in the long-run. the PHX series proved that last year. It took PHX one game to adjust to it.

I bashed Roy?

I know you like to throw the All-Star Kevin Love in to a lot of discussions with me because your still bitter that he made the AS team and all ... But, I never bring up how you wanted to suck off Blakey last year. A guy who's showing himself as an NBA scrub.

I read this forum and then I watched the game as i was unable to see it live. I focused on Roy pretty closely since by reading this thread I assumed he was a major factor in the loss. And all i can say is WTF were some of you watching? As well as Mills shot the ball, it was his two turnovers that were costly at the end of the third and beginning of the 4th. Brandon was not used as a PG last night.

This team has not closed out well on the road as of late. And I do not see them winning a playoff series because of it. But other than LMA they all made some mistakes last night. Brandon was hardly a main factor in the loss.

Unfortunately, I couldn't watch the second half of the game last night, but it seems to me we lost the game in the latter part of the second quarter. If we keep our double digit lead going into the third, we put some serious doubt into their minds.

As for Nico, he just doesn't look right. I think that ding he experienced in the OKC game is bothering him more than he's letting on. Same with Brandon's back. And there has to be a larger issue with Camby and his recovery from knee surgery. There's no way he should play so few minutes in such an important game. He controlled the boards for us when he was in.

There's no getting around the fact, however, that this was the biggest loss of the season. We had a terrific opportunity to solidify the 6th seed, and now it's unlikely we'll get that high.

The team really needs you to step your game up for this home stretch, BC. No more excuses!
