Idk where you get these generalizations about Taj, but thank you for trying. Taj couldn't even post up Wes Matthews. He's 49th in PER, 47th in Value Added, and tied for 46th in Estimated Wins Added (which favors bigs who rebound and block shots)... for power forwards. And since this season is a small sample size, last season Taj was 47th in PER, 40th in VA, and tied for 39th in EWA... again for power forwards. He was also 26th for power forwards in TO ratio, 43rd in rebounding rate, 43rd in assist ratio. You can fudge who you call a center or a PF, but he's definitely below average, unless we're splitting hairs over bench guys. He's significantly over paid and his attitude is way above his pay grade.

Carl Laundry - paid less
Chris Anderson - paid a LOT less
Marreese Speights - paid a LOT less
Luis Scola - paid a LOT less

There's 4, just for good measure. ;)

Slighting Lopez? That's a new one. Career High Rebounds, speaks for its self, but I'll just reiterate: Lopez 16 Noah 2

Chris Anderson isn't a PF.

I don't think Landry is in the league anymore.

Speights? He has a PER of 6.2. He's also a center :)

Wasn't speights a center because Gasol was hurt? I coulda swore he always played a 4 in Memphis.

Well, I was right about in the year I was thinking of, at least. lol.

There were a lot of Bulls posters net-wide who wanted the Bulls to amnesty Boozer and start Taj. I think Taj is a great backup, but Boozer is a way better PF. It looks like Thibs agrees with me, since Boozer continues to get more minutes than Taj, and did all along.

Oh man. I think that was a chant for awhile. "Cut boo-zer! Cut Boo-Zer!

What was up with Boozer in the second half anyways? I seem to recall not seeing him after halftime, and if I recall, he was playing pretty well offensively against us (as he usually does), and he was a decent rebounding presence. His mid-range jumper should have been easy to get off all night against the Blazers, and it's usually automatic. I wonder if his diminished minutes had a negative effect on the outcome for the Bulls.

It is a stretch to say Taj Gibson is worth $7.5 mil, or that he is the reason, or even a significant part of the reason, the Bulls have experienced success in the East, or that Taj Gibson is the best reserve PF. There's are too many logical fallacies in your argument to continue. Sorry hun. :( Thanks for trying. ;)

Two years ago, Taj received votes for 6th man of the year (during the lock out season): averaging 7.7 pts 5.3 reb 1.3 blocks .495 FG% .622 FT% (his 1 first place vote came out of Chi, he received 28 points of a possible 605 points, tied for 5th). Mo Williams, Carl Laundry, and Kyle Korver also received votes that season. So, I guess there's that. This would be an example of positive support for your opinion. ;)

Arguably, his best season was his rookie season, where he started 70 games.

I'm kinda having fun watching you shoot down your own arguments. Keep going :)

I liked your list of centers and retired players who are better backup PFs.

Seems Bill Walton and Kareem are better backup PFs than Taj, too.

So, Scola is a center, and retired, and worse than Taj?

Markieff Morris
Marcus Morris

There's 2 on the same team even. It's clear you aren't interested in making your case, despite my luke warm efforts to solicit what you base your opinion on.

Seriously, is that the best you got?

Markief has a career 13 PER. Taj has a career 14.6.

Marcus is a SF.

EDIT: I'll grant that he's 6'9" and maybe plays some PF.

You are reaching.

My case is simple. Taj is a top 3 backup PF. If that makes him a good player, so be it.
