<h3>Marbury saga continues as Knicks take on Nuggets</h3>

<div class="pre">New York (2-5) at Denver (6-3) 9:00 pm EST</div>

<div class="pre">DENVER (Ticker) - As the Stephon Marbury saga continues, the</div>New York Knicks try to snap a five-game losing streak when theyface the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

Marbury has been in a feud with coach Isiah Thomas over the pastweek after a report in the New York Daily News revealed thatThomas and team chairman James Dolan are considering options forthe controversial point guard - including a move to the benchor a trade.

Marbury and Thomas reportedly got in a fight during the Knicksflight on Tuesday to the West Coast, where the team is in themidst of a four-game road trip which concludes against theNuggets. When the team landed in Phoenix, Marbury got off theplane and onto another, flying back to New York the same day.

After setting aside their differences, Marbury rejoined the teamthe next night against the Los Angeles Clippers. His presencedidn't matter much as New York suffered another loss.

The Knicks will be fatigued in this contest after enduring a123-118 double-overtime loss at Sacramento on Friday night.

While the Knicks appear to have lost all chemistry, the Nuggetssuperstar duo of Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony arecorrecting all doubts that they couldn't share ball.

Iverson is averaging 25 points a game this season and has gottenhis teammates involved, dishing out eight assists per contest.Anthony has been the 32-year-old point guard's favorite target,as the Syracuse product has averaged 25.7 points, 5.0 reboundsand 5.2 assists per game this season.

DENVER (Ticker) -- Starting or sitting Stephon Marbury appearsto not have much influence on the outcome of recent games forthe New York Knicks.

Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points and Allen Iverson added 23 asthe Denver Nuggets secured their fifth straight win, a 115-83drubbing of the struggling Knicks on Saturday night.

Reigning Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Camby added sixpoints, 20 rebounds, six assists and five blocks for theNuggets, who have emphasized defense during their win streak.

New York, which concluded a winless four-game road swing andlost its sixth consecutive game overall, brought Marbury off thebench for the third straight game as coach Isiah Thomas choseto start Mardy Collins at point guard.

Marbury, who scored five points on 1-for-6 shooting, has been ina feud with Thomas over the past week after the coach and teamchairman James Dolan reportedly are considering options for thecontroversial point guard - including a move to the bench, atrade or a buyout of his contract.

In response, the veteran guard skipped Monday's practice priorto Tuesday's game against the Phoenix Suns. He flew home to NewYork in a huff but returned to play on Wednesday vs. the LosAngeles Clippers and Friday vs. the Sacramento Kings.

But it hasn't mattered as the Knicks have lost all three contestssince his return.

The Nuggets raced out to a 30-22 first-quarter lead behind 13points each from Anthony and Iverson. The dynamic duo combinedto shoot 10-of-14 from the floor in the quarter.

J.R. Smith provided a spark off the bench for Denver during a14-6 run to open up the second. Smith connected on two3-pointers and scored eight points during the burst.

Denver, which never trailed and shot 49 percent (43-of-88) fromthe floor in the game, took a 58-40 lead into the half. Itbuilt the lead up to 34 points and never let New York get anycloser than 16 in the second half.

The Knicks, who have not won since November 6 when they beat theNuggets by seven points in New York, were led by Zach Randolphwith 16 points and 11 rebounds. Randolph was making his returnafter missing Friday's game vs. the Kings to attend hisgrandmother's funeral.

"Marcus really put on a show tonight," Nuggets coach George Karlsaid. "I think the professionalism is growing on this team."

"This last week we have been showing teams that we can buckledown on defense," Anthony said. "Tonight we could takeadvantage of getting up and down the court and our transitiontonight was there and we made shots."

New York, which concluded a winless four-game road swing andlost its sixth consecutive game overall, brought Marbury off thebench for the third straight game as coach Isiah Thomas choseto start Mardy Collins at point guard.

But it hasn't mattered as the Knicks have lost all threecontests since his return.

"It was a bad one," Marbury said. "We just couldn't get ittogether defensively and offensively. We just weren't doing thethings we needed to do to win the game. We need to work on alot things."

"It was a tough night for us," Thomas said. "We had a lot ofunfortunate things happen to us in the past week. We got alittle work to do and the season is still young."

The Nuggets raced out to a 30-22 first-quarter lead behind 13points each from Anthony and Iverson. The dynamic duo combinedto shoot 10-of-14 from the floor in the quarter.

"We have so much individual talent on this team," Iverson said."I don't think any of the guys think about that. We ride themomentum of whatever guy is playing well and a lot of these winshave been from everybody playing well."
