<h3>76ers look to complete home-and-home sweep of Knicks</h3>

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Philadelphia 76ers will go for ahome-and-home sweep of the New York Knicks when the teams meetat Madison Square Garden on Saturday.


Philadelphia won, 101-90, in the first game on Friday for justits third win in its last 10 games. Samuel Dalembert had 20points and Andre Miller added nine points and 11 assists as theSixers defeated the Knicks for the sixth time in their lastseven contests.


Two seasons ago, Philadelphia swept the home-and-home, winningin New York, 117-112 on March 31, 2006 and then defeated theKnicks by 19 points on its home floor two days later.

A win would also be the first time this campaign that the Sixershave won two straight games.


Stephon Marbury returned to New York after missing one game dueto the passing of his father. The Knicks point guard playedjust 13 minutes - none in the second half - and scored twopoints.


Jamal Crawford led New York with 28 points and eight assists,while David Lee added 16 points and 11 rebounds in Friday'sloss.


New York is also hoping to avoid a 6-13 start for the thirdstraight season.

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- With a huge night on the glass,the Philadelphia 76ers now have their first winning streak ofthe season.


Reggie Evans only needed three quarters to record another bigrebounding effort against the New York Knicks, and the 76erscompleted a sweep of the home-and-home series with a 105-77 routSaturday night at Madison Square Garden.


Willie Green led the 76ers with 18 points. Andre Iguodala added17 for Philadelphia, which had followed its first fivevictories by losing three games decided by five points or less.

Philadelphia finally broke through with one of its bestrebounding performances of the season, as it finished thecontest with a 47-27 edge. The 76ers had 28 by halftime, whichcontributed to their 12-point edge and then had a 36-20advantage, helping them to a 75-57 lead through three.

Evans led the way with 12 of his 14 boards at the break, whichwere two fewer than he had in Friday's 101-90 home win over NewYork when he recorded his first double-double. He did not needto play in the fourth as Kyle Korver hit three straight3-pointers to officially turn the game into a rout early in thequarter.


Korver's 3-point barrage was part of a 24-10 run highlighted byAndre Miller's steal of Nate Robinson and behind-the-back passto Jason Smith, who dunked it for an 83-57 cushion with justover nine minutes to play.


Philadelphia finished with its fourth double-digit edge inrebounding and had it by the end of the first and a 28-12advantage at halftime.


In a game in which the Sixers rarely trailed, they briefly lostcontrol as Jamal Crawford's 19-footer put New York in front27-26 with 9:39 remaining in the second. Philadelphia tied iton its next possession and closed the half with a 23-10 run.

The Sixers took the lead for good with a pressure defense thatforced New York into turnovers on three straight possessions.They converted and never trailed after Lou Williams interceptedJared Jeffries' pass and dunked with 8:44.


When Philadelphia was not grabbing rebounds, it was forcingturnovers. It forced 18 giveaways resulting in 24 points andits most lopsided win of the season.


Stephon Marbury played his first home game since the death ofhis father on Sunday. He finished with six points.

The Knicks were led by Robinson's 25 points but got limited<div class="pre">production from Eddy Curry and Zach Randolph. After taking one</div>shot in the first half, Curry scored six while Randolph tookjust three shots and scored two points.


Knicks owner Jim Dolan returned to his customary baseline seatnear New York's bench after not appearing at the last fourgames. He watched his team shoot 36 percent (25-of-70) and coachIsiah Thomas hear more loud chants calling for his termination.

"Our big men were playing solid defense inside," added 76ersguard Andre Miller, who finished with 11 points and 10 assists."So that gave us opportunities to rebound the ball and when yougot Reg setting the tone with 10 rebounds in the first quarterand I think everyone picked up on that and we just went on fromthat."


The big rebounding margin turned into one of Philadelphia's bestdefensive showing of the season. The 76ers held an opponentunder 80 points for the second time this season and to aseason low in rebounds, surpassing the 30 they gave up againstPortland on November 16.


"Our rebounding was great," Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheekssaid. "I thought Sam (Dalembert) and Reggie at the start of thegame the way they rebounded the ball (was great). When yourebound the ball, you get in the open court and put the ball inAndre Miller's hands and Andre Iguodala's hands. When you getin the open court we can be pretty good. But we must reboundthe ball and get stops."
