Here's a game preview:

The Kings (5-8) had dropped three in a row heading to New Orleans on Wednesday - including a 109-94 loss at Memphis the night before - and looked like they might be on the verge of their second four-game skid of the season. But Sacramento rallied to beat the Hornets 105-96 behind 29 points from John Salmons.
“Our guys showed great character tonight,” coach Reggie Theus said. “We played horrible last night, and we came back tonight and played with a lot of heart, a lot of pride.”
Salmons has stepped up in the absence of leading scorer Kevin Martin (22.4 points per game), averaging 18.8 points while shooting 50.8 percent from the field. Salmons has scored 26.0 points in his last three contests.

First we get the Bulls without Deng, and now the Kings without Martin. Still, they beat the Hornets in New Orleans, so this may not be as easy as it looks.

Nice part is we can play them the same way we played Rose. Everytime Salmon touches the ball we comitt two players to him. He is really their only threat, we should also be able to kill them on the boards tonight.

Right. And with 12 fouls a piece for Oden and Prz, let them clean up in the interior. I like it!

I disagree. First of all Salmon isn't worth a double team. Secondly, I actually view Ben Udrih as the guy you need to pressure, not Salmons.

I don't know how Sacramento beat New Orleans, but I'd be pretty disappointed if we lost tonight. We have to win this game because that Phoenix game will be tough on a second night of a back to back.

We were pretty good on the second night of a back to back on Wednesday.

It's pretty cool that with wins today and tomorrow, we will pass Phoenix in the standings.

it isn't a "must win", but it's definitely an "I'll be pi$$ed beyond belief if we lose". We're better than Sac when they DO have Martin and Garcia. If we lose to a young team without their best two backcourt players...if Spencer Hawes, Thompson and Miller get to do anything against our frontcourt, if Beno Udrih looks anything like he deserves an MLE contract....then it's a travishamockery

Why would we not take away their number one option with double teams? He's averaging 26 over the last 3 games. If we limit his offense they have literally no one else on that team that can score.

I'm expecting Phoenix to be a much bigger challenge on the road than playing Chicago at home, plus Shaq might be looking forward to his matchup with Greg.
And I don't remember the last time we've beaten the Suns on their home floor.

im missing the game tonight...its gonnabe my first game i miss :(

going to a highschool football game

Phoenix is overrated IMO. I expect us to walk in there this time and kick some ass. Statement game baby!

Because if you watch their games he does not intiate their offense. John Salmons is the guy they go to when the offense breaks down. Secondly, in most of the games when the Blazers have played Sacramento, if they didn't have Ron Artest on Brandon, then Brandon scored like mad, and will most likely get a guy like Salmons into foul trouble, so chances are, he won't be an issue.

Based on their last lineup..

Steve Blake > Beno Udrih
Brandon Roy > John Salmons
Joel Przybilla = Brad Miller
Nicolas Batum = Donte Greene
LaMarcus Aldridge > Jason Thompson

Bench
Greg Oden >>>> Spencer Hawks
Sergio Rodriguez = Bobby Jackson
Rudy Fernandez >>>> Bobby Brown
Channing Frye > Mikki Moore
Travis Outlaw > Kenny Thomas or Shelden Williams

Hopefully we can win this going away and rest the guys up for tomorrow.

if anyone has a link, i'd appreciate it.

waking up in italy at 4 AM to watch blazers vs. kings regular season game on a laptop = true fandom.

That's very untrue. Hawes is capable of hitting perimeter shots or posting smaller guys up (fortunately Portland won't be throwing guys much smaller than him at him, even if he's in there with Miller). Udrih is a capable offensive player, as well.

I think Portland will be too physical for the Kings and we just have more skill and size across the board, but the Kings--even missing Martin--aren't pushovers.

For those that don't get Comcast, is there a live video feed of this game anywhere on the Internet? If a link exists and you don't want to post it in this forum due to fear of compromising the source, feel free to send me a private message.

Jazz are getting thumped by the injured Spurs. If we win this game, we tie Utah again.
