GAME THREAD: Spurs @ Blazers 3/25/11

I think this will give our guys a lot of confidence going out on this road trip.

That was one of the best endings to a game that I have ever seen in my 36 years on the planet.

I'm 36 too. When's your birthday?

Don't sweat it KS, the Debbie downers will always try and find a way to taint a fantastic victory.

We are far from a jump shooting team, it's painfully obvious. Maybe 3 years ago we were.

But you naysayers need to stop regurgitating Charles Barkley's verbal diarrhea.

Thank you!

Sorry for the delay in posting. Usually I post within seconds after the game ends. I hope you all understand, but I had to change my underwear.

Have I said lately how much I love Nico?

Hahahaha! Go Blazers!

Does this win make us 2-1 up over the Spurs this season?

Yes

If you are going to compete for a title, you need to get past those teams anyway.

Yeah, but you stand a better chance in the 2nd round or WCF against these teams. In the first round, there's too much 8 on 5.

Exactly. And that 8-0 run at the end of the game (that should have been a 10-0 run if LA makes his FTs) puts real doubt in SA's mind for the playoffs. We are as tenacious as they are.

They shouldn't be. Its not even 10pm yet and its a Friday on spring break. When I was 9 I was out TP'ing houses, or something on the Friday before my spring break ended.

Yeah, and now you spend your Friday nights online posting on a basketball board random shit with a bunch of random dudes. Maybe he wants more for his daughters.

I knew LaMarcus was going to miss at least one of those free throws. He is a good free throw shooter -- until the last two minutes of the game.

OTOH: I had confidence when Nico was on the line. He is so cool and smooth: like Silk.

Great game and great finish by Andre. His steal at the end was epic. His lob to Batum for the win was epic. Nate's less-than-last-second play call was epic. Decoys all over the floor and Nico rolls in for the lob.

Awesome Finish!

That was an amazing game that I totally thought would go the other way. However, this team has shown a lot of grit the last few years and can't be taken for granted. Wow...

Should I even read this thread to see all the haters in action? How do you say...... "Wow......What a fucking win FAMS!" in French?

C'mon, you know you're gonna read it.

Blazers got #1 play in top ten plays on Sportscenter.

That was a total meltdown by SA, btw. They had no business losing that game, at least in regulation.

I don't agree. Ginobli was nails, but the Spurs basically played two man or iso with Ginobli for most the 4th. It cost them in the end. I'm not sure what they should have done differently tho being so small.

Portland manned up in the closing minutes scoring all their points in the paint, getting key rebounds, crucial steals, pressure free throws. Portland earned it.

“It was ridiculous,” a subdued Manu Ginobili said. “One of the craziest games I’ve lost in the NBA.”

Miller, third among the NBA’s active leaders in assists, had no trouble ranking that one.

“That was No. 1,” said Miller, who matched Batum with 21 points.

Just tell me where the FIRE NATE! and WHY is Nic and Rudy still in the game posts start?

Seriously though, there wasn't much hating for a Blazer game thread, surprisingly enough. Good job folks

I didn't yell, I just said "Mom, that's gonna be on sports center".

It was (but you knew that already).

Jeez, we hoisted up 26 3-pointers, made only 26.9%, and still somehow won this game. We should stop settling for 3s the rest of the season; the 3-ball should be a last resort because obviously it's not a weapon for us.
