Back from the game. No complaints at all other than the refs flat out stunk for much of the game. The better team finally came through, though. Rudy was ELECTRIC in the 4th, Bayless was very good tonight, Outlaw made some big plays, Roy could have scored 40 if he had wanted to, and Oden was dominant inside.
It's a great day to be a Blazer!

All things considered, I think every player contributed well, with nobody having a bad game, and we dumped some revenge on the Okies.
The evening was a rousing success.
Neither does saying he is.
Time will tell, and I guarantee Jerryd will make his mark in this league, but in the end he will be remembered as a tenacious SG.
bayless being in the game the same time as westbrook does not mean all the stats that westbrook accumulated were "on" bayless. even if westbrook was supposed to be bayless's matchup the entire time there still are instances such as fast breaks, rotating on defense, picking up someone else's man because they didn't get up the court fast enough, switching on screens, etc that make looking for when the players were on the court together on the play by play absolutely meaningless.Man you're reaching so far on this you must have elastic arms.
It tells me Westbrook got 9 of his 12 boards while Bayless was supposed to be guarding him, and 3 when Sergio was locking him down.
The boxscore says Blazers 106, Okies 92, but I guess you'd say it's debateable who won?
Where did you end up eating and how was it?
No doubt... I think it'd be hard to point to any player and say that they were less than what we can expect. Some of them were markedly better.
A good win. Hopefully we can roll the Warriors tomorrow night and feel good about ourselves heading into the All-Star game.
Ed O.
if bayless had a game in which he played 20 minutes and put up 3 points on 1-2 shooting, had 4 assists, 2 rebounds, 4 turnovers, and 3 fouls would you say that he did a good job contributing? All things considered, I think every player contributed well, with nobody having a bad game, and we dumped some revenge on the Okies.

It may be my faulty memory, but I remember some pretty pathetic performances from this team on the last game prior to the All-Star break I hope it's my memory, and by "this team", I mean the past few seasons.
So you are saying he can shoot! Sweet

I'm worried too. It's in Oracle, where we have struggled, and the Warriors are starting to look semi-dangerous....
I'm saying he can score, and his shooting will come around as he gets used to the physical play more. He had a nice stroke in his year of college.
He's smart, and aggressive, and will get better and better.
I like having him here.

If there is any game where we should just go inside every single possession, it's this one.
Biedrins is out, their only big is Turiaf, and he's going to have to take on G.O. Stephen Jackson will have to guard LaMarcus. But their perimeter players can flat-out play. Crawford, Ellis, Maggette, Watson, Azubuike..
At least they won't have Anthony Morrow tearing us up anymore.
What did I miss about Morrow?
He's terrible now and not getting any PT.
i remember having watched some games when blake was playing that we struggled against teams we shouldn't struggle with. that comes with being a young team and as they age together that shouldn't happen as much. i'll be the first to admit i was wrong if blake is kept and either of the other two are gone but i'm feeling pretty safe right now.
i do find it funny that no one wants to bring up bayless' stat line from the NYK game on sunday when he wasn't up to snuff and got pulled early. both of these guys are still young and learning, they are going to have games where they struggle. blake is nothing more than a journeyman PG that has hit his ceiling, i don't think we've come close to seeing the ceiling on sergio or bayless yet.
Way to jinx us. Now he will go off for 30. LOL
what impact can your opinion have if you don't back it up? that's part of the problem with internet forums, people can hide behind their keyboard and aren't held responsible for the crap that spews out of their fingers.

Oden ranks first among NBA rookies with 16 double-doubles. ... Portland's Rudy Fernandez has made a 3-pointer in 29 straight games, matching the rookie record held by Kirk Hinrich. Fernandez has hit a 3-pointer in 49 of his 50 games this year.

16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal. Thank you for a good night of basketball.
