Bullshit.
hate to be a downer, but he is right, if we lose to memphis tomorrow, hello 0-5
We ALWAYS play poorly in Indy, no chance in hell to beat Cleveland, and the Bucks are tough at home this year...Memphis or bust imo

Another ugly loss to a team the Blazers should be able to hang with. Is it my imagination, or are the Blazers a worse road team now than they were early in the season?

Nope. They've lost 7 out of their last 9 on the road. And one of those came after Chris Paul got hurt, and the other was against the Twolves. The team doesn't know how to win on the road (but apparently fans think just bringing in a "vet" will solve that).

Why the fuck was Joel taken out at the 8 min mark?

They've gotten layups every fucking play since.

The mark of a good, up-and-coming young team. The Chicago Bulls of the mid to late 80s were awesome at home and terrible on the road.

I'm not worried. The Blazers will make the playoffs. And that's been the goal of this season all along.

I' honestly not sure we win another road game the rest of the season..our bench just doesn't bring it on the road..maybe if GO comes back healthy we can but damn...

other then the laker game.... the blazers have looked terrible

That Speed guy jinxed you guys with that thread he made. Joe Johnson is on fire right now though, wouldn't it be ideal to put Batum on him?

Did Batum have fouls or something? I had poor IT reception so do not know. i agree that you try something else if if is not working the way we are playing it.

Batum had a pretty lousy defensive game vs. Johnson. Although, to be honest, Joe Johnson had a fantastic game regardless of who was guarding him.

We should have doubled JJ, ATL has no one outside of Bibby you need to worry about

Me either. I don't like losses but the team is young and losses on the road are one of the barriers.

Vince Carter, Luol Deng, Gerald Wallace or Richard Jefferson isn't going to all the sudden make these guys play with the same tenacity that they do at home (most of the time).

A veteran wouldn't hurt, but he wasn't going to all the sudden show them how to win. They need a guy who's been on a winning team to do that.

The game was over anyway. He's resting Joel for the next game. Our defense is sliced bread when he's out of the lineup. That's why we really need to get Oden back.

He's been playing hurt so I wonder if that's the reason he's not in. Hope we don't lose him too!

Did they say anything about Oden today about when he might return?

There is no one solution.....but I would argue that bringing in the *right* vet to mentor the youngsters would be PART of the solution.

We have not lost more than 3 in a row all season, so don't put too much stock in this loss.

Nate blew it when he yanked Sergio, and then compounded his mistake by playing Bayless for 10 horridly defenseless minutes.

You don't win games with 11 assists.

The pass-around-the-perimeter "attack" we rely on with Blake is nearly as ineffective as the no-pass-drive-against-3-taller-guys-and-get-swatted-like-a-bug "attack" that Bayless has worn out.

Time to hand the reins to Sergio and rise to contender level.

Yep. The problem is finding that "right" vet. I don't think Carter, Wallace or Jefferson are that right "vet". Nor was Deng.

Of the vets available, I'd argue that Tayshaun was that one. But I'm not sure if the cost for him would be worth it for the team (I would guess a combo of Batum and Travis or Webster + more. I'm not saying he's worth that, but I'd bet Detroit would want that to cover up their cock up of trading for Iverson).

Getting Wallace or Deng (or even Jefferson) would be ok if it was after they got the "right" vet in the first place.

We should try to get this guy. He's pretty good on the road.

The score was 67-81 at the 8:18 mark when he left. Then they started cutting us up inside and extended the lead to 20.

I agree that we have the NBA's worst defense without Joel (hell, we have the NBAs worst defense even with Joel), but I could tell the Blazers were not going to come back. You could tell by their body language and the way they were moving.

I think Nate's idea was to play small ball...but that didn't work out so well.

Oh God help us if that is what it comes to.

Sergio's numbers in the month of March (8 games)...

.9 PPG, 2.3 APG, 1 RPG, .9 TO, 12.5% FG and 0% 3PT in 8 minutes a game. Why oh why would we hand him the reigns? Our backup PG spot is hideous, Blake isn't very good, but he is much better than his backups.

Edit - not trying to bash Sergio here, just trying to bring into context how silly your comment was. Out of our 3 PGs, Blake is by far the most qualified to be our PG, imo.

Why are you letting stats factor into your argument with someone who just says things as some kind of funny joke?
