So before the game thread is made, I wanted to talk about the match ups. I don't want to waste my time making a poor man's dark web game thread, so fuck you all.

Anyway, things to look out for.

1.) spurs never double Aldridge; hoping Duncan can play Aldridge straight up. I expect Aldridge to have a LaMonster game. Most likely a +10 rebounding performance with a +25 scoring.

2.) Parker vs Dame has been fun to watch. It seems Dame takes this matchup seriously and the fans backing him will only fuel his competitive fire. I'm hoping dame punishes Parker the entire night!

3.) this will be the turn around game for Lopez. I think he will grab many boards, disrupt a ton of shots and even break 10 points tonight. Splitter is good, but only a little than Lopez IMO.

4.) both teams are on a b2b, but spurs traveled more miles. The spurs are older too, so I expect the wear of the back to back will effect them more. I think pop may even use a larger rotation in this game as well.

5.) Mo Williams will have a break out game because the spurs bench isn't agile like Denver and Phoenix's bench. I think he comes out on fire.

6.) Rebounding is essential in this game. We must make sure San Antonio has one shot attempt every game.

I would add to that I would like to see a solid game from TRob

Duncan didn't play last night so he'll be fresh. It seems we usually play the Spurs well in the regular season, I can remember a number of unexpected victories over them.

I'll be most interested in how we defend Parker. He is an MVP level player and we struggle against the PG more than any position.

I thought Timmy wasn't playing. ?

Hmmm you could be right. I assumed they did the standard rest him on back to back but appears he has a minor injury.

ESPN said:
Duncan (chest) will not play in Friday's game against the Lakers, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

Spin: Duncan left Wednesday's game with a chest contusion that was confirmed Thursday by a CT scan. He will be rested Friday against the Lakers and his status for Saturday against the Blazers is uncertain as well.

Well that changes everything! I suspect they will use doubles on Aldridge tonight

I am glad SA is 2-0. They will be less desperate for a win, and more likely to give Timmy one more game off.

It will be interesting to watch to Batum guard Parker. I assume they will try it if Parker heats up.

I think dame or Matthews will be assigned to Parker because sas has a pretty good sf already.

If Duncan is out I can see Dame having a HUGE game. Lot's of points and lot's of assists.

Also I want to see Lopez and Freeland really give Splitter the business. His rebounding numbers have been good through two.

I don't think you can ever call SA desperate for a win. They usually coast halfway though the first part of the season anyway.

Yeah but Batum really struggles against physical SFs like Leonard. I'd rather see Matthews guard him. So then probably start with Damian on Parker but switch Batum on to him from time to time.

They are such an odd team. They sit starters out of many games and seem uninterested in trying to win but somehow quietly back their way into one of the best records in the west every year.

Portland has been particularly dominant at home in this series, winning eight of nine by an average of 10.5 points.

Parker could have his hands full with reigning Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard, who has 50 points and made 9-of-16 from 3-point range in the first two games.

Lillard averaged 28.0 points on 53.4 percent shooting and 7.0 assists in last year's season series with San Antonio.

:pimp:

Has darkwebs been paying attention?!?! This is not a game thread!

It is now, mi amigo!

And if we lose, it's on your head!

I've been waiting all day to post the Spurs-TB Preview link into the 'official' game thread. Now that I've posted it here, it's officially official.
