OT Gasol gets benched for 4th quarter loss against Nets

Gasol seems extremely annoyed. With Grizzlies going 0-7 maybe they will finally decide it's time for change and put up both him and Conley for sale.

I don't see anyone needing Conley though, as good as he is, aside from maybe San Antonio (perfect fit). Gasol, though, will be chased by half the league if he is available.

Gasol and Conley are so loyal

If this was Portland they would have left by now

Denver would go after Conley, which is scary. I'd certainly try to get him to be our 3rd guard by trading Turner, Leonard, and two future 1sts.

I still think Gasol can move his feet well enough to play PF. I really like a lineup of Lillard/McCollum/Aminu/Gasol/Nurkic. Gasol would be that extra option we need, and that team would give Golden State matchup problems.

Pelicans seem like the ideal fit for Conley IMO.

If this was a joke, I'm missing it. Wouldn't it actually be the opposite if you're trying to make fun of the Portland fan?

Spurs should trade Lamarcus straight up for Gasol...pairing the Gasol bros with Parker and Ginobli.....Pop would make that work like butter

The solution for Memphis is to trade their aging, malcontent big man for....an old, even more malcontent big man? Besides, when was the last time somebody took one of the Spurs' castoffs and actually improved them?

If I'm in Memphis' shoes, I'm looking for young guys to rebuild around.

Fizdale is gone. Gasol and Conley are staying till they retire

I took heat for saying you can’t coach nba guys in a certain way because it doesn’t work. People want Stotts to be a MF’er when guys don’t do what he wants. This is what happens.

To be honest this is a players' league to an annoying level (for me at least). Coaches disrespected everywhere and treated by players like they are friends or whatever.

Its VERY annoying. Popovich is the only coach I think who can confidently do whatever he wants with his players. Everyone else is at risk if they are too hard on players. Bench a guy? Yell at him? Pack your bags.

Of course there will be those. Exceptions that prove the rule.
That use of that saying always bugs me. The word "prove" in that context is being used in an archaic sense meaning "test" (as in "proving ground"). So what it means is "the exception tests the rule" - in other words, if there are exceptions, the rule is invalid.

That's not a sign that the players rule the league. That's a sign that the GMs are chickenshit.

You don't have to be a MF'er. Look at Brad Stevens. It's easier for old white guys to be MF'ers with young, predominantly black guys. What's really hard is to communicate and get them to act like a team. Think of teachers you've had - the best teachers get students to contribute and take charge of their own success without having to yell at them.
